02:23Enlightenment is a fancy word, but actually the thing is quite simple.

02:30Enlightenment simply means to know.

02:32There are areas of darkness in the mind, you throw light on them, that is enlightenment.

02:41That's all.

02:43Enlightenment is no magical or fancy thing.

02:47So right now, I can enlighten you a bit, you too can enlighten me a bit.

02:53To really know something is to be enlightened about it.

02:56Kindly do not associate metaphysical notions with it.

03:02Enlightenment is not some divine event in which flowers rain from the sky and strange

03:09impossible metanatural things start happening on the earth, no nothing.

03:18Enlightenment is a very simple thing and the other kind of enlightenment that you hear,

03:24in which magical things happen, incredible stuff, people start flying and flowers start

03:35talking, animals transform into human beings, all that is nice entertainment, nothing beyond

03:46that, right?

03:49Soul, you said, that the soul has to be enlightened.

03:54We talked of three words and we said that they are approx synonyms.

04:00Which three words?

04:02Consciousness, mind and ego.

04:04Take the soul as just the mind, nothing more than that.

04:08When you say my soul is suffering, it's actually nothing but the mind because nothing apart

04:14from the mind ever suffers.

04:17So that which has been in a very ornamental way called as the soul is nothing but the

04:24mind.

04:27Just the mind, okay?

04:30Energies, are really there two types of energies?

04:34I know of only one energy that is denoted in Joules.

04:38How many do you know of?

04:43Is there another kind of energy denoted by something else?

04:48At least in SI, it is just Joules.

04:52What other kind of energy can be there?

04:54There can be forms of energy, I understand, there can be 40 forms of energy.

05:00But energy is just one, right?

05:03Energy is just one.

05:06That which can cause change in matter is called energy.

05:09Is that not the basic definition?

05:13That which can cause any kind of change in matter is defined as energy, full stop.

05:21Energy causes change in matter and change in matter produces energy.

05:25The two are interlinked.

05:32So what is this paranormal kind of energy?

05:37The word energy used in a spiritual sense is mere superstition.

05:49You understand the word ethereal?

05:52What is ethereal?

05:54You know, cosmic, blurred, hazy, beyond real, surreal, mystical.

06:01If ever in any of these contexts you hear the word energy being uttered, run away.

06:10Somebody says, you know, some energy is rising from my navel point and it's coming upwards,

06:16it has reached my lungs, now it will hit my throat and then the brain and then there will

06:22be a great fountain of energy bursting out from my skull.

06:28Please watch out.

06:33Sheer nonsense.

06:35Energy is physical.

06:37Consciousness is not.

06:38When you talk of energy, you are talking of the material world, full stop.

06:45Anything material has energy associated with it, full stop.

06:51Energy has no meaning in the spiritual sense, no meaning at all.

06:56If you hear someone saying, you know, I can move this mug using my mental energy, nonsense.

07:07There is solar energy, there is tidal energy, there is nothing called mental energy.

07:14Nothing called mental energy.

07:15And if you insist that there is something called mental energy, it is just the food

07:20that you take in.

07:23And that food becomes stuff of the brain and obviously in the brain there are electronic

07:30processes going on, there are neurons that fire, so some energy is involved.

07:36There are very subtle electrical circuits all over in the brain, so obviously there

07:40is movement of energy.

07:43Even with respect to the brain, you can just fully use the word energy, but with respect

07:53to the mind, the word energy is meaningless.

07:58Are you getting it?

08:05But there is a lot of spiritual haziness.

08:09So we start using words that belong to the objective universe in the subjective sense

08:16as well.

08:18Keep these two apart, that's the fundamental thing.

08:24The objective world is one thing and the inner world where you have dissatisfaction or love

08:33or curiosity or identification, that is another thing.

08:40These two are related to each other yet very separate.

08:46Are you getting it?
