00:00In a world full of distractions and constant comparison, how can a young person discover what truly matters and stay rooted in inner clarity?
00:08When you say young person, we say, no, this is where I stand. And I am a young person and I have a life to live.
00:15Tell me, is there anything in life that you aspire for and was not aspired for by your grandmother as well?
00:22Fundamentally, you want security? You want to be liked? You want to be appreciative? Want some money?
00:30Want a good house? Anything here that the grandmother was not wanting? So, are you young?
00:38Are you young?
00:43Where is youth? The psyche becomes old.
00:46All the old beliefs, opinions, prejudices very quickly get transferred. No, not transferred. Implanted. Implanted without consent.
01:00These are centuries old prejudices. Centuries old. That's your age, not 20, but 1020.
01:08How old am I? 1020 years old. Are you young?
01:12What is youth?
01:16The height of social and social and social ecosystems.
01:38What is youth?
01:39What is youth?
01:39Ağrı GZE.
01:40Good evening sir, good evening everyone. So the question is, in a world full of distractions
01:47and constant comparison, how can a young person discover what truly matters and stay rooted
01:54in inner clarity? See, nobody starts from a clean slate. What's your name please? Kasturay
02:02Chaudhary. Nobody starts from zero. When you say, how does a young person discover what
02:13to do and there is so much noise and clutter and confusion, please reread the statement.
02:20In a world full of distractions and comparison, how can a young person discover what truly
02:30matters and stay rooted in inner clarity? Rooted in inner clarity. But I do not start from
02:41zero. I start from somewhere, right? When you say young person, it seems as if you are referring
02:51to someone who is just starting out. But that's not true. You might be young, yes, yes you are
03:00young. But are you at zero? Psychologically, do you have a clean slate? I am asking you.
03:07Did you have a clean slate? Even when you were five, let's say you are 25 today, even at five,
03:15did you have a clean slate? No one starts from a clean slate. So do not ask, how do I proceed
03:24forward from here? First thing is to ask is, how did I come here? Where am I standing? We
03:35are very interested in knowing the way ahead. But we are not interested in questioning our
03:43coordinates. We say, no, this is where I stand and I am a young person and I have a life to
03:50live. And there are these, you know, fourteen paths forking out. Sir, how do I choose? First
04:02of all, do you need to stand where you do? First of all, do you need to own these coordinates
04:09and operate from there? I am asking you. Maybe, the way is not ahead but in. Maybe, you don't
04:27need to ask what more to write on the slate. You first need to wipe the slate clean. And
04:37then a new story may emerge on its own. We do not know. Confusing? No? We don't have a clean
04:48mind. Yes, you are young. Right. Granted. But you are already very cluttered.
04:57The world does not allow the child to remain a child. The child is filled up with old nonsense
05:11and so the child becomes old very quickly. Yes, physically he remains a child. She remains a child.
05:17Yes, physically you are young. But psychologically you might be very old. 80 year old grandmother.
05:24Because the grandmother is sitting here. Tell me, is there anything in life that you aspire for? And
05:38was not aspired for by your grandmother as well? Fundamentally. You want security? Do you? I don't know. You don't
05:48want any security? You want to be liked? You want to be appreciated? Want some money? Anything here that the
06:04grandmother was not wanting? Want a good house? Anything here that the grandmother was not wanting? Share many of your
06:21beliefs with your beliefs with your grandmother about the world, God, religion. Chances are the same religious line,
06:29the same caste, all those things. So are you young? Are you young? Where is youth? The child is born and
06:49and grandmother enters her within two months or five years. The face remains young. The psyche becomes old. All the old beliefs,
07:09opinions, opinions, prejudices, very quickly get transferred. No, not transferred. Implanted. Implanted without
07:19consent. This is, this is violation, penetration without consent. You are never asked, but all those things
07:30were drilled were drilled into your mind space were drilled into your mind space. And now you are old. And that's why this
07:37confusion. Otherwise life is an open field. And you are educated, you are healthy. The world is yours. Do you see what is
07:55happening? We don't need to ask what to do next? We need to ask what has already happened to me?
08:02Do you play holy? Holy day, your face, your hair, your entire body is smeared with colours, rung, gulal, even mud or other kinds of paints. And you come and you ask me,
08:31what to say, what to wear on this? What do I reply? What do I reply? I would say, I would say, you first go clean your face. Don't ask me what more to put on it. Because you have already put on so much. You don't need to add to it. Your mind, just as your face carries all those colours,
09:00your mind too has been deeply coloured without your consent. Before you ask which dress to put on today, the first thing is to go and have a ruthless scrub.
09:21Clear away, clear away all this that you are carrying from the past, from influences, from society, from peers, from media, television,
09:28the algorithms. Allow me to get a little personal. Would you? How do you know you must have this kind of a haircut, that hairstyle? How do you know?
09:46I ask my hairstylist to do according to my face. Is your haircut your own? Please tell me. Is this hairstyle your own? So are you young? Are you young? Are you young? Are you young? Okay, another question. Deeper.
10:14Deeper. This one behind you has hardly any hair. Why do we rarely find any women having as little hair as this one? If we were to take an average, you know, the length of the ladies' hair and the gentlemen.
10:42Even accounting for baldness. I mean, even accounting for baldness. I understand. That brings some bias into the data. Why is it so that the women in general have longer hair? Please tell me. Please tell me.
11:02You are born much the same way as you know, any other kid. As the other sex. And then you are gendered. Right?
11:22Today, today so much that you find it inconceivable that there is a woman with very short hair.
11:34Whenever you close your eyes, close your eyes and think of your lady loves. Does she have short hair? Really short one? Are you young? Are you young?
11:49These are centuries-old Medha. Well, how old are you young?
11:55These are centuries old? 10020.acey?
12:00How old am I? 10020 years old. Because I am carrying all the lengths of the centuries. That's my age.
12:19Now, you know, in spite of getting clean from hair, why I choose to keep long hair.
12:28This is not hair style.
12:30This is a message.
12:44If this is where we stand.
12:47This is where all our decisions about the future will come from, right?
12:51If we are so full of the past, this past will now become the future.
12:58Right or wrong?
13:00If everything inside here is coming from the past, this same past will become now the future
13:06of this young person.
13:10But she'll continue to claim, I'm young and I'm setting out towards a new fresh
13:15life.
13:17There is no newness.
13:18There is no freshness.
13:19It's just the past recycling and rolling on.
13:24Do you call the recycled product as new?
13:28How many of you do that?
13:30Please tell me.
13:31Do you call a recycled product as new?
13:34No.
13:35Why don't the men colour their lips?
13:40What's wrong?
13:41Lips are much the same.
13:43Right?
13:44Lips are so much like noses.
13:49Lip, nose.
13:51Much the same.
13:54Hardly any gender variation.
13:57Hardly any gender variation.
13:59So, you cannot justify by saying, but we are women, so we have distinct lips.
14:08Lips are the same.
14:10Lips are like tongue.
14:11Lips are like teeth.
14:12Lips are like kidneys.
14:14You can have a kidney transplant from a man to a woman.
14:18Much the same.
14:19Lips are like blood.
14:22The woman can donate blood to a man.
14:25Much the same.
14:27How is it that the women have coloured lips and the men can't even think of it?
14:35For the men it is scandalous.
14:40Think of a man here with coloured lips and you would say, you know, look, look at this.
14:49Are you young?
14:52These lips are so old.
14:54So old.
14:55These lips are ancient.
14:57Like the lips of a mummy.
15:01Those Egyptian mummies, no?
15:03Think of their lips.
15:04We are still carrying those lips.
15:06Ancient lips.
15:07Mummified lips.
15:12And then we say, you see, look at these lips.
15:16They are so welcoming.
15:17No, they are not welcoming.
15:18They are scary.
15:19You look like a mummy.
15:29Is a mummy young?
15:32Oh, that woman died so many centuries back.
15:38All that has been preserved is the young body.
15:44She is young only in the body.
15:47She died many centuries back.
15:50But the body has been preserved.
15:52The body is young.
15:53The woman is not even old.
15:56She is no more.
15:57She doesn't exist.
15:58Do we even exist?
16:03That's what Western philosophers are hinting at.
16:13And that's what is at the core of Indian philosophy.
16:17If you are dependent, you are not existent.
16:21That's what is ad-duayat, non-duality.
16:25Duality is dependence.
16:27The one who is dependent is not even existent.
16:32If you depend, obviously, physically you will have to depend.
16:36You are standing on the earth.
16:38Yes, physically you are dependent.
16:40But psychologically, if you are dependent, you don't even exist.
16:44You don't even exist.
16:47And we are all dependent so much on the past, on the trends, on everything outside of us.
17:03Are we young?
17:12Are we young?
17:15Youth is the ability to change.
17:26Youth is the ability to change.
17:30Youth is the ability to give birth to the new.
17:33Think of it as symbolic, not physical.
17:36Not physical.
17:38The ability to give birth to the new.
17:43Let's say this is wood.
17:46Let's say this is wood.
17:51Or this.
17:54Let's say this comes from a tree.
17:58When the branch is young, green, fresh and alive, what can it do?
18:09Two things.
18:10It gives rise to fresh leaves.
18:14Secondly, it bends.
18:19It bends.
18:20It doesn't follow the course.
18:25It doesn't say, I have a shape and I stick to it.
18:30Right?
18:31That's what defines youth.
18:34Can you bend this?
18:36Can you bend this?
18:41Can you change course?
18:43If you can change course, you are young.
18:46Unless you are dead, dead wood.
18:56And dead wood is very useful to others.
19:01What do you want to be?
19:10Alive or useful?
19:12Alive.
19:13Most of us are very useful, especially in India.
19:16And especially Indian women.
19:18We are the epitome of sacrifice.
19:21No?
19:22Very useful and therefore respectable.
19:25Look at her.
19:28She has nothing of her own.
19:30Not even a bank account.
19:35Even her life is not her own.
19:38It belongs to the family, to the husband, to the kids, to the parents, to the in-laws.
19:46She has nothing.
19:49And therefore she is to be worshipped like a goddess.
19:53Because she sacrifices so much.
19:54I am asking you, do you want to be useful or alive?
19:58Alive.
19:59Yeah.
20:00Then you are young.
20:03Yeah?
20:07The fact is, this can't even be useful.
20:13Because it is not alive.
20:17All it does is obey orders.
20:22I place it here, it stays here.
20:27I place it here, it stays here.
20:31And this too is wood under my feet.
20:34Do you want to be the wood under somebody's feet?
20:40Do you want to be randomly placed by others and circumstances here or there?
20:45Please tell me.
20:47Well, placed is a word very significant to campuses.
20:53This one is placed here.
20:58Did you choose to be placed this way?
21:01How many of you await placements?
21:04Tell me.
21:06Yes, come on.
21:08Yeah.
21:09Not possible.
21:10This one somebody placed.
21:12It got placed.
21:13And now everybody is rejoicing.
21:15The parents are so happy.
21:17Distributing sweets.
21:18My kid got...
21:20Placed.
21:21Do you want to be placed or alive?
21:32Alive.
21:33Good.
21:34The management is happy now.
21:36This one is settled.
21:49No?
21:50See?
21:51Can it move?
21:52Leave it here.
21:53We will stay here for a century.
21:55Leave it here.
21:57We will stay here for a...
21:58Century.
21:59Do you want to be settled?
22:01It's well settled.
22:04And that's what everybody is asking you.
22:06When would you be settled, girl?
22:09You want to be settled or alive?
22:12Alive.
22:13Then never be settled.
22:27You get this.
22:28Don't ask about the future.
22:30First of all, gain freedom from the past.
22:33Otherwise, the past becomes the future.
22:36All questions about the future are meaningless.
22:39Because we are prisoners to the past.
22:43Somebody in a jail cannot ask about the sky.
22:46It's such an absurd question.
22:48You don't need to ask, what does the sky look like?
22:51What does it feel to fly?
22:52It's such an absurd thing to ask.
22:54What you need is freedom from the jail.
22:57Not visions and images of the sky.
23:00The past is what captivates you.
23:04Question it relentlessly, ruthlessly.
23:15Stir things up.
23:17And don't be afraid of dirtying or selling the waters.
23:23Because that's what happens.
23:24When you question, then there is confrontation and controversy.
23:32Don't be afraid.
23:33Tell them, bring it on.
23:36Fine.
23:37I'm not afraid.
23:38Let there be tension.
23:39Something good would come out of it.
23:43Existence proceeds through creative destruction.
23:54No?
23:55If you do not demolish the existing nonsense, then no fresh goodness can take birth.
24:05Therefore, destruction too is important.
24:08Don't be afraid of it.
24:09Don't be so sold out to continuity.
24:13You know, this thing has been happening.
24:15And how can I now obstruct?
24:17Do obstruct.
24:18Let there be discontinuities.
24:22Break away.
24:23Break free.
24:24Those breaks are needed.
24:35And then you don't have to ask, what about the future?
24:38Then the future shapes up on its own.
24:43Very beautifully.
24:44Without much of your planning.
24:50And beyond your imagination.
24:57Thank you very much.
24:58Thank you very much.
25:00Thank you very much.
25:01Thank you very much.
25:02Thank you very much.
25:03Thank you very much.
25:12Hi everyone.
25:14My name is Sonia Agnihutri and I am with Acharyji from last two and a half months.
25:20And before that, I used to listen him from YouTube, but I think mostly things have changed
25:25changed when I joined the Gita sessions. So I can give one example, like earlier, I listened
25:31some of the YouTube content from Achariji, but most of the things I decoded based on
25:36my understanding. So based on that, I took some bad decisions of my life. I would say
25:41it's a really big decision that one should not take, but it's still after some time when
25:47I got to know about the Gita session and I joined that, then I got some clarity. I understood
25:52like, what we do is we got the content and we mixed up with our own understanding or
25:58our own greed as well. So let's say if I want to get married, I see Achariji's video and
26:03interpret it in some other way. So this is some thing I got to know after joining the
26:09session. So for me, the most important part is it's good. You listen to him from YouTube
26:15from any other source, but sessions are the most biggest blessings for all of us. So
26:21now I am out of many of the things. There's still many things are going in the background
26:26that I cannot share as of now, but I would say I am handling everything very smoothly.
26:31I am working professional, my whole family, my parents, my brother, my sister and his wife
26:38and even a small baby. She is also a member. We came here today. So we all are vegan. We changed
26:45our lifestyle. We are more focused towards health. My mother was many, she had many, like
26:53she is a twice cancer survivor. But today she was here. She saw Achariji. She got so much
26:59strength. Right now she is doing yoga, everything. So we are working on ourselves. We try everyone.
27:06One should try, at least listen to him with open mind because this is the most important
27:12part. If you don't listen him open mind, then you might interpret anything. But I found the
27:18most, you know, Karuna, the Acharji say all the time, this Prem and Karuna, we can, we can
27:25just feel from his words and everything, whatever he does. So today I got a chance. First time I
27:32am volunteering for these event also. So it was very, very beautiful journey. I wish I
27:38will continue this. Thanks.
