From Kris Jenner to the Vice President of the United States, decorating for the holiday season is a big affair. Today, AD steps inside some famous homes to see how they prepare for Christmas.

00:00Hi, welcome to my house at Christmas.
00:15Come on in.
00:24I want you to meet my dear friend, Jeff Latham, who is responsible for designing this beautiful
00:30place.
00:31He is the artistic director of Jeff Latham Designs.
00:34You were like Mr. Christmas, but all year long.
00:37Mr. Christmas, but we have so much fun.
00:39All my kids and myself look forward to Christmas every year now because Jeff decorates our
00:44houses and we get so excited.
00:46So I'm going to show you a couple things that he's done this year that blew me away.
00:54Really the start of Christmas is the loading in of the Christmas tree.
00:59And it's amazing how much organization and production goes into just getting the trees
01:05inside and getting them lit.
01:07It took us literally like almost 24 hours just to light everything because we don't
01:10just throw the lights on.
01:11We actually, we go in and then we tie each branch, we pull them in and we go out.
01:15And then we climb up on ladders and we have people holding people and it's this whole
01:18process that takes days.
01:20You know, you've seen so many amazing displays in your home over the years.
01:23So bringing the tree in is always like a big deal.
01:25And I think one of the fun things is just deciding on what the theme of the tree is
01:29going to be because that sets the tone for the entire house.
01:33I said, I want to do something with candy and he came up with this.
01:38And it's like, wow.
01:39The whole aspect of this beautiful black and white marble floor with the red and white
01:43of the tree.
01:44It's about shape.
01:45It's about color.
01:46The theme is Candyland chic.
01:47Candyland with a K.
01:48Candyland with a K chic.
01:49Duh.
01:50Yeah.
01:51Hello.
01:52So you want to show them the living room?
01:53Let's go.
01:57So this living room started with three beautiful reindeer that we found.
02:03And when we discovered that they actually had moving antlers, that was really exciting.
02:09We love these so much that he also recreated it at Chloe's house in Cleveland this year,
02:15which he just finished a couple days ago.
02:16With live snow.
02:17Like cutting down the tree in the forest.
02:19Exactly.
02:20I know.
02:21Well, we don't have live snow.
02:22So we did the second best thing and he created this.
02:26Look what you did here.
02:27Tell me about this.
02:28Well, the whole design of this room is so clean and pure.
02:31We really wanted to focus and not take away from the room itself, but add an art installation.
02:35So instead of doing garland how we have in years past, we created this sculpture.
02:40We like creating things that obviously are Christmas, but something that you could actually
02:44like leave up.
02:45I love the stockings with the fireplace and it kind of just goes with the whole room.
02:49And the reindeer haven't been named yet.
02:51I wanted to do something obvious like Dancer and Prancer, but Mason and Penelope and Rain
02:58and Saint and North are going to choose some names.
03:01So I can't wait for that.
03:02So now, the best thing this year for Christmas and the thing I'm most excited about is my
03:09beautiful red bear.
03:15Jeff is very famous for these amazing magical animals.
03:18He called me from Paris one day and said, we have this shot at getting the guy from
03:23Paris to make you a bear.
03:24And they're actual pieces of art.
03:26I mean, you see, we've never had one of these in the United States.
03:29It was important for us that people saw the bear and saw the tree at the same time.
03:33They're an installation together, actually.
03:34Mason decided it's a boy and his name is Christmas.
03:38It's Christmas.
03:39So Christmas is here.
03:40Christmas is really my time where we're actually able to play with sculpture and design a little
03:44bit more.
03:45So it's our most favorite time of the year.
03:48Yes.
03:49And wait till you see what he did with my table.
03:51So every year, I'm really kind of crazy because I like to set the table and kind of leave
03:57it that way for the whole time.
04:02I enjoy looking at my dishes and bringing everything out and it means it's the holidays.
04:07This year, I went with plaid.
04:09Plaid is very traditional and it reminds me of being in the mountains.
04:14It's very Tommy Hilfiger or Ralph Lauren, you know, that kind of a feel.
04:18So I mixed the plaid with snowmen this year.
04:21I found these great snowmen plates and they look so good together.
04:25But then I really added the glam factor with these gorgeous Christoffel eggs that are so
04:30stunning.
04:31And inside is an entire set of silverware, which I did the gold with the plaid because
04:38I thought it was so dramatic.
04:39You like to mix things together so that there's, you know, there's multi-usage.
04:43And layers.
04:44Exactly.
04:45I like layers.
04:46So we wanted to go off the colors of the plates with the snowmen and obviously the gold.
04:48Usually we do a lot of white flowers in the house, but obviously this year, going off
04:52of the whole fling of the tree and the bear.
04:54With the plaid, we used, you know, just color-blocked these beautiful mounds of red roses with
04:59a touch of black calla, just to add that naughty or nice Christmas.
05:02You know, for us, it's really about whimsical.
05:05It's about fun.
05:06It's about family.
05:07Right.
05:08So it's about sitting at a table and just being excited to be there.
05:10Yes.
05:11So that's why we played with the roses hanging from the chandelier.
05:13It's the tradition with that aspect of mid-century modern and cool.
05:17So this is a table that I'll probably be at a lot.
05:19Yeah.
05:20I'm like, why, Jeff, why are you at my table?
05:21You let Jeff engage.
05:22I know.
05:23I know.
05:24He just won't leave.
05:25He's just sitting there.
05:26He won't leave.
05:27He doesn't leave.
05:28Ever.
05:29We don't want to leave you guys, but he's got a lot of decorating to do.
05:31Yeah.
05:32We're running around.
