Wigan man walks to Wigan in the Philippines

Chris Woodward is walking from his home town of Wigan, England, to Wigan in the Philippines to raise money for Andy's Man Club.

00:00Day 1 of trekking from Wigan, England to Wigan in the Philippines.

00:15I had slept a wink last night, probably about two and a half hours.

00:21Nervous as anything, but just hit town centre now, ready to catch a train to Manchester

00:29airport and then a train to Paris.

00:33Feel a bit daft talking to myself, just in the churchyard, but onwards and upwards.

00:38Am I ready for this?

00:40No.

00:41I'm excited, but I'm also nervous.

00:43Can I do it physically?

00:44Not got a clue.

00:47Not trained for it, but just going to go each day as it comes.

00:50Can I do it mentally?

00:52Probably not again.

00:53Have I got enough fun till I get there?

00:56No I've not.

00:57But I'm going to stretch it as far as I can and I don't know what's going to happen on

01:02the way.

01:03Going to miss my family, besides saying goodbye to a few people and we'll leave it at that

01:12one before I start getting upset a bit more.
