00:00My biggest kitchen confession is...
00:08I'm Tom Kerridge and today I'm delving into people's kitchen confessions including
00:13passing off a recipe as one of your own even though it's somebody else's.
00:21Have I ever double dipped a spoon? Probably not something I've done.
00:26Muscle memory would be understanding that that doesn't happen in a kitchen. However,
00:31if it's done at home, I wouldn't have a problem.
00:33Have I ever spilled something in the oven and hoped it'd burn away rather than clean it?
00:36Yes, I have done that a number of times but no,
00:39it doesn't work. It's not going to burn away. Get it cleaned.
00:44I have never ever reheated a ready-made meal and passed it off as my own. No.
00:51The dog has eaten stuff that's been dropped on the floor but not because I haven't got the
00:54mop out. It's because I haven't got the mop out in time and there's a difference there.
00:59The dog's on its A-game. It's gone.
01:02Have I ever used the bread knife, wiped up my jeans and put it back?
01:06No, I haven't. I would have used the bread knife and then just given it a quick dust off with a
01:11cough. Bread's not the same as like carving beef. The biggest kitchen confession would probably be
01:17stealing a recipe from somebody else.
01:21It's my mum's recipe. It's a take on her bolognese sauce recipe that then drops into a lasagna.
01:27I would argue that it's just been passed down from a generation. Do you know what,
01:31I think my mum's very proud. I do give her a shout out every now and then and that she's
01:38quite happy about it. When it actually came to dishes that she cooked, whether it was a bolognese
01:43that would go into a lasagna or a Sunday lunch, it would feel very, very special.
01:47Look at that. Perfect. My mum's lasagna. I'll claim it as me own.
