00:00House Speaker Martin Romualdez defended the House Squad Committee against the critics.

00:06He said that the Camera will not allow the time of that darkness to return,

00:10and Mela Lesmora is with us in detail.

00:16Because we are slowly seeing the light and the truth,

00:21we hope that the attack on our institution will be more understood,

00:26but we will not be ignored.

00:29We will not allow the time of darkness and injustice to return.

00:37That is what House Speaker Martin Romualdez said to the critics of the House Squad Committee.

00:43The leader of the Camera said that the Committee will not allow the truth and justice to be denied.

00:51On Wednesday, the Squad Committee continued the hearing of the former President Rodrigo Duterte's War on Drugs.

00:59Congressmen re-invited the former President.

01:03They stood up to him, and Duterte also spoke to the Senate about the issue.

01:10Speaker Romualdez said that no one can stop the Joint Panel from their hearing,

01:15especially if they are on the right path.

01:21We are on the right side of history.

01:23And make no mistake, no matter the challenges, no matter the opposition,

01:28we will stand our ground.

01:34To those who are standing, let us stop the search for truth and justice.

01:42I will tell you one thing, you will not succeed in your evil desires.

01:49All of this was said by Romualdez in his reply to the Congressional Session yesterday.

01:55Aside from this, the House Speaker also gave the success of the Camera.

01:59As of October 31, 2024, 61 national laws and 62 local laws were enacted.

02:07Nineteen measures await the President's action.

02:10Five conference committee reports were ratified.

02:13And 765 House bills, both national and local, were approved on third reading

02:19and are now pending Senate action.

02:22President Ferdinand R. Marquez, Jr. was also praised by Speaker Romualdez,

02:27especially for his signing of some important laws,

02:31just like those for the welfare of farmers.

02:35With the passage of RA No. 12022,

02:39or the Anti-Agriculture Economic Sabotage Act,

02:43we are taking significant steps to protect our farmers from unscrupulous traitors

02:48who exploit agricultural smuggling, profiteering, and hoarding.
