00:00So there's this notion that plant-based food are not delicious.
00:04So we wanted to change that and serve food that are delicious.
00:15Whether for health reasons or moral beliefs,
00:17there are more and more Filipinos who are interested in a plant-based diet.
00:22Here in the Philippines, young adults are the core consumers of this lifestyle
00:27from the age of 15 to 29 years old.
00:30There are more and more products that give us meat and animal dairy substitutes.
00:35People with a plant-based diet are divided into two categories.
00:39Vegans and vegetarians.
00:42What is the difference between the two?
00:44I think it's more of a lifestyle rather than just a diet.
00:47Vegetarian is more of like the plant-based option.
00:51So it still includes dairy and there's also eggs.
00:55So there's lacto for those who still consume milk.
00:58And then there's ovo for vegetarians for those who eat and consume eggs.
01:05Veganism is more of everything plant-based.
01:08Same with the lifestyle, sustainability,
01:11and heading towards more environmental activities and work.
01:17Here in Aurora, Quezon City,
01:19there's a cafe that has delicious drinks and hearty food
01:22for those who want to try being vegan.
01:25The Through Habit Cafe.
01:27Does Ashley Ortega have a vegan diet even though she's a certified sweet tooth?
01:34Actually, this drink is very interesting.
01:37Because usually when we drink coffee,
01:38we don't expect that it can pair with calamansi.
01:43So I wonder how this would taste.
01:45If it's sour or bitter.
01:48And also our food, our sweets.
01:52Usually, I feel guilty when I eat sweets.
01:55But these are all vegan.
01:56If you want a quick, happy fix that's also refreshing
02:00and with a mixture of the calamansi.
02:02Because people always wonder,
02:04does it pair well with calamansi?
02:05I don't think so.
02:06But it's really, really good.
02:08Oh my gosh.
02:12It's so good.
02:14Actually, the sourness and the taste of the coffee are competing.
02:19But the balance is there.
02:23It's really good.
02:24I think it's my first time eating a vegan dessert.
02:30It's good.
02:31It's a bit sweet.
02:33For people who don't like sweet cookies,
02:37I think this is perfect for you.
02:39This is my favorite oatmeal.
02:41Because when you say oatmeal cookies,
02:43it's less guilty because it's a healthy oatmeal.
02:47But this is really vegan.
02:49I think this is the best dessert for people who are on a diet.
02:53This one.
02:54Coconut cookies.
02:57I like it.
02:58Out of the three, this is the best for me.
03:04I feel like I'm drinking a cocktail.
03:06A cocktail coffee.
03:09But it's actually nice that we can give twists to our coffee.
03:14It's called Ventura Highway because of our barista.
03:18Because our barista's name is Arvin Ventura.
03:20He wanted for it to look like a sunset.
03:23So it's another citrusy drink, but it's higher in caffeine.
03:27So we wanted to serve a drink that is something familiar
03:31and represents our Filipino products,
03:37which is gata.
03:39So the crema de coco, it is espresso latte with coconut cream.
03:48Okay, I think this is my coffee.
03:50I like sweet drinks.
03:52I actually love coconut when it's mixed with coffee.
03:56I do that at home.
03:57I like this.
03:58I think this is actually my favorite.
04:01I don't know if it's this or that.
04:04Aside from good coffee, good food, and good habits,
