01:48Every morning at dawn, the monks of Luang Prabang's many temples come out onto the

01:52main street and walk solemnly barefoot, collecting alms from villagers.

01:59Offerings typically consist of sticky rice, which helps feed the monks during their morning

02:03meal.

02:04Some of the most visited sites in Luang Prabang town are Sieng Thong Temple, Mount Phu Si,

02:11Visunala Temple and the former Royal Palace.

02:17Just outside of the main town are the beautiful Quang Si Waterfall, Ding Cave and Say Waterfall.

02:24Further out is Mue Ngoi Cao, a quiet village located on the banks of the Nam U River, surrounded

02:39which were influenced by the Angkor people who settled in Cambodia.

03:01To the south of Phak Se is the Wat Phu Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

03:14On this stretch of the Mekong is the largest waterfall by volume in Southeast Asia, Khon

03:20Phap Heng Waterfall as well as Li Pi Waterfall, noted for its cascading emerald green waters.

03:28In the northeastern region of the province, rising over 1,500 meters above sea level,

03:35are the rich volcanic soils and cool climate of the Bolivian Plateau.

03:40This area produces some of the finest Arabica coffees in the world, which can be purchased

03:45directly from the local growers.

04:18a considerable period of time, with some dating from as early as 2000 BC.

04:54north of the capital, is set in a dreamlike landscape of bizarre limestone mountain peaks

05:00and sheer cliffs, with the Namsong River bisecting the town.

05:04At the base of the town's limestone mountains are a network of caves to explore.

05:09Water sports such as kayaking and tubing are popular, and rock climbing is also a growing

05:14pastime.
