The Standard reacts to England's dramatic defeat to New Zealand

00:04probably to talk through that England defeat and I think it's one that's really going to sting

00:08to Steve Horthwick. It's the third time this year that England have lost a game by

00:14two points or less. Felt like really they should have got it over the line. They're going into

00:20that last 20 minutes, eight points clear and looking in control and New Zealand came fighting

00:25back. Obviously a mad, mad end to the game. Horthwick spoke a bit about it afterwards,

00:30said England have been so good in those positions. You're on a big match for the World Cup, Argentina

00:33and it's a whip to the post that's cost them. But I think for England going into this autumn

00:38it was spoken about by Horthwick about closing out games with winning matches in these types

00:42of situations. I think that's something they need to learn from and get better at going forward.

00:45They're obviously still developing as a side but I think New Zealand just showed that experience

00:49at the end, that ability in the clutch moments to get the result done.
