00:00Spain is deploying 10,000 more troops and police officers to the eastern Valencia region,
00:10devastated by historic floods that have killed 213 people.
00:15Hopes of finding survivors ebbed, four days after torrents of muddy water wrecked towns
00:21and infrastructure in the country's worst such disaster in decades.
00:26Almost all the deaths have been in the Valencia region, where thousands of security and emergency
00:32services frantically cleared debris and mud in the search for bodies.
00:37Restoring order and distributing aid to destroyed towns and villages, some of which have been
00:42cut off from food, water and power since Tuesday's torrent is a priority.
00:47Authorities in the Valencia region have restricted access to roads for two days, to allow emergency
00:54services to carry out search, rescue and logistics operations more effectively.
01:00Electricity had been restored to 94% of homes affected by power outages, and that around
01:06half of the cut telephone lines had been repaired.
01:09Authorities have urged people to stay at home to avoid congestion on the roads that would
01:14hamper the work of emergency services.
01:17On Saturday, emergency services issued an updated toll of 213 people confirmed killed,
01:25210 in the Valencia region, two in neighbouring Castilla-La Mancha and one in Andalusia in
01:32the south.
01:33Authorities have warned the toll could yet rise, however, as vehicles trapped in tunnels
01:38and underground car parks are cleared.
