00:00President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. promised to continue to assist the government

00:05in the affected areas of Pananalasa, Bagyong Layon, and Cristin.

00:09The President insisted on addressing the challenges of climate change.

00:13Kenneth Paciente is in the center of the news.

00:21Following the Pananalasa of Bagyong Cristin and Layon in some parts of the country,

00:25President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. gave a statement

00:28that the government will not stop helping those affected by the calamity.

00:33He also emphasized that during this time,

00:35the color of politics should not fade, instead, assistance should be given.

00:41Fellow countrymen, we will not stop until all have woken up.

00:46Our agencies are not tired.

00:48We hear your cries and we are doing everything

00:52to put you in a better situation.

00:55According to the latest NDRRMC data,

00:57assistance to the affected areas of Bagyong Cristin and Layon

01:01reached Php 713.1 million.

01:05All power generation plants and all transmission lines and facilities of the NGCP

01:08are now back in operation.

01:12The 13 electric cooperatives in Bicol Region

01:15are still in partial power interruption status,

01:18while 67% of those in those areas

01:20were able to return the supply of electricity.

01:23There is also no longer a shortage of fuel supply in Bicol Region

01:26after replenishing the retail gasoline stations.

01:30It is estimated that 1,894 liters of diesel and gasoline

01:35while 20,011 kg LPG cylinders were sent to Bicol

01:39from Oct. 29 to Oct. 31.

01:42Although assistance is continuous,

01:44President Marcos Jr. emphasized that there should not be complacency

01:47and that disaster risk reduction and response,

01:52whether local or national, should be prioritized.

01:54According to the Executive,

01:56this should be strengthened,

01:58especially since the effects of climate change are more severe.

02:01This is because flood control systems need to be developed

02:05after the recent floods.

02:08That is why there are many changes

02:10in the planning of the infrastructure

02:13that we are building.

02:15That is what needs to be done.

02:16You can expect that our national and local disaster risk reduction

02:21and risk reduction and response will be prioritized.

02:25This is really a part of our lives.

02:28Our country is considered to be at high risk

02:30due to the effects of climate change.

02:32That is why we need to be good in this field.
