Mystery 'pile of poop' reminds DC residents of Jan 6 riot

Washington, DC residents are puzzled over a poop emoji statue that appeared near the US Capitol building with its creator unknown but its message seemingly a satirical reflection on the Jan 6 riot of four years ago. 00:00Residents of Washington, D.C. reflect on the horrors of the riot on January the 6th, 2021,

00:08while walking by a poop emoji statue in front of the U.S. Capitol. They found the statue satirical

00:16and a good way of reminding people what happened that day.

00:20It's kind of a mystery, but there is a reference to defecating and urinating in these hallowed

00:28halls. That does seem satirical. It would be easy to read this as not coming from the right wing,

00:38but I don't know. It's a strange time we're in.

00:42You have to read the plaque that goes with it, I think. I think I like it because it reminds

00:50people what happened four years ago, and it was really awful. And if it takes a pile of

00:58poop to remind people, then that's what it takes. I think it's important to ensure that people don't

01:05forget about that day. The statue does not identify its origin, but a National Park Service permit

01:12for the week-long stunt was filed by a group called Civic Crafted Limited Liability Company.

01:21During the riot, thousands of supporters of then-U.S. President Donald Trump broke

01:26into the Capitol building in an attempt to overturn the results of the presidential

01:31election two months ago that saw Trump losing to Joe Biden. The statue was put up just ahead

01:39of the November 5th election, where Trump is running for presidency for a third time

01:44against Vice President Kamala Harris. Amid concerns over another unrest,

01:50some businesses in the American Capitol are boarding up and shielding their premises.

01:56I actually think it was a smart decision. We all know what happens when things don't go Trump's

02:03way. He incites his followers to protest in violent ways, and I think it's smart. I actually

02:12work a couple of blocks down in a government building, and I don't want to come to work on

02:16Tuesday. I think it's going to be hectic and crazy. I wish we would be off. It's a sad state

02:23for the democracy in the United States. Why should freedom have to protect your own property

02:32when you disagree with somebody? It doesn't make any sense. You can't take it anymore. You're the

02:37worst vice president in history. Opinion polls show that Trump locked in a tight race with Harris.

02:44This is someone who is unstable, obsessed with revenge.

02:50And the seven swing states will once again be key to decide the winner.
