00:18Due to the severe effects and damage caused by Hurricane Christine last week,

00:23the provinces of Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, and Quezon were also declared under the State of Calamity.

00:30The declaration will help local governments to use their Calamity Funds

00:37to quickly meet the needs of affected families and individuals.

00:43This will also give them the ability to meet the price freeze

00:47for basic needs, basic necessities, and essential services.

00:53For Binan City, one of the local governments that was the first to declare the State of Calamity,

00:59this was a way to protect the affected residents

01:04from the rising prices of basic necessities and services.

01:08The declaration of the State of Calamity at this time is appropriate

01:21because we can't just do our own thing.
