00:00So it was your 108th birthday recently, wasn't it?
00:06It was lovely because Mates threw me a lovely party, lovely party it was, invited all my
00:16friends and we had entertainment and tea and cake and, you know, all the things that make
00:24a birthday go with a swing.
00:27And you had some special guests, I heard that the Lord Mayor came to see you as well.
00:31Oh yes, that was the crowning point of the day because she was a lady and she was beautiful,
00:40really beautiful, dressed in gold with all the gold chains on her and she was everything,
00:51a nice, amiable sort of person.
00:56What did you do for work when you were working, I'll say?
00:59Well, I did a nurse in the Royal Navy and that was very, well, soul-destroying in one
01:10way and marvellous in another, you know, you couldn't really put a word to it.
01:16I'll never forget that.
