00:00Defense Secretary Gilberto Chedoro, Jr., who is also the NDRMC Chair,

00:05issued an urgent order to implement force and mandatory evacuations in high-risk areas

00:10as part of the preparation for the Lion Flood.

00:13In addition, the Department of the Interior and Local Government, or DILG,

00:18ordered all local governments to follow the directive

00:22according to DILG Officer-in-Charge Undersecretary Lord Villanueva.

00:26This step is important for the safety of the people.

00:31Secretary Chedoro also emphasized the importance of being proactive,

00:35especially in the Bicol Region, where many places are still submerged in the flood.

00:41The government wants zero casualty whenever there is a calamity,

00:46so they urge the public to follow the protocols

00:49in accordance with Republic Act No. 10121,

00:53or the Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Act,

00:57and local government code.

00:59Local chief executives should implement the force evacuation if necessary.

01:05This is so that residents of high-risk areas

01:09in evacuation centers or safer places can be safely evacuated.
