00:00The Senate Blue Ribbon Committee has started its own inquiry on the War on Drugs of the previous administration.

00:07And for the first time, the former President Rodrigo Duterte attended the hearing.

00:17As you know, the hearing of the Senate Blue Ribbon Subcommittee on Guilt in the War on Drugs has already been held.

00:23For the first time, the former President Rodrigo Duterte attended the hearing.

00:27The former Senator Laila de Lima, former chiefs of the Philippine National Police,

00:33as well as the victims of the previous administration's drug war also attended the hearing.

00:37In the plenary hall, Duterte and De Lima only had one meeting.

00:42De Lima told Duterte that this is a professional matter and that he should not pass on the answer to the questions of the senators.

00:53Duterte promised the legal responsibility to all the police officers, not to him.

01:00He will answer and not the police officers who followed him.

01:03According to Duterte, he only did what he was supposed to do and this is for the country.

01:08It is not about the killings of those around him. It is about protecting the innocent and not fighting.

01:15As you know, the Senate also met with supporters of the former President and his family of the victims of extrajudicial killings.
