00:08I really enjoy traveling.

00:10So, I'm ready to go to any part of the world.

00:13Do you know why?

00:15Because I'm sure that wherever I go,

00:18I'll find my fellow countrymen there.

00:20But do you know that in the past,

00:22only one place in the world was inhabited by people?

00:26Now, there are people in every corner of the world.

00:30But 200,000 years ago,

00:32people only lived in one of the seven continents,

00:36Africa.

00:38Migration is the process of moving from one place

00:43to another part of the world.

00:44It's done by animals,

00:46from the smallest fish

00:48to the largest whales,

00:51especially humans.

00:54A good example is the most famous migratory bird in America,

00:58the duck.

01:01you probably won't see ducks all year long.

01:04Why is that?

01:06You guessed it right.

01:07Migration.

01:09They move places whenever it gets cold.

01:12When it's hot in the northern part of America,

01:16it's fresher there.

01:18But when it starts to get cold,

01:20they go to the south,

01:21where the climate is hotter.

01:23They do seasonal migration,

01:25and that's one way for animals to travel.

01:29Under the oceans and rivers,

01:31there are fish that migrate.

01:34Salmon swim for almost 6,000 miles in a year

01:38to return to the place where they were born

01:41for them to lay eggs.

01:42The longest distance that an animal traveled was in 2015.

01:47A gray whale set a world record

01:50for seasonal migration.

02:22The Olduvai Gorge is rich in rocks

02:25from lava, chert, and quartzite.

02:28These rocks are strong and sharp,

02:29so they made tools that can be used to mine them.

02:34the ancient people were ready to travel the world.

02:39How did the ancient people know where they would live?

02:42It's simple.

02:43They walked by the sea.

02:46The natives are rich in natural resources.

02:49They have water and food.

02:51Because of this,

02:52they were able to discover the depth of the country.
