Yeah, that might be quite important, and it will be a test, basically, for the whole country
00:06
to see how far the four opposition parties or coalitions, which should enter into the
00:12
parliament, will manage to gas up people tomorrow night in front of the parliament.
00:17
That's important.
00:18
The old day, the president spent the day in consultation with this representative of the
00:24
four parties, which managed to get the threshold of 5 percent and will be represented in the
00:30
parliament.
00:31
But two of them said they won't recognize the result and they won't sit in the parliament.
00:35
And indeed, they were echoed by the president, saying that she doesn't recognize the result.
00:41
So she is really taking very hard lines in this election, which is seen, as you know,
00:47
in the country as a very key moment of the history of this country.
00:51
And then to oppose to the kind of U-turn made by the government to finally break the relation
01:00
with the West and come back under the Russian influence.
01:03
So important words.
01:05
Then we'll see how much the people will follow her and follow the opposition on that Monday
01:09
evening.
01:10
Now, on the flip side, we have the Georgian Dream Party claiming the majority, the parliamentary
01:16
majority.
01:17
And one of their staunch allies, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, is set to come
01:22
also on Monday at the same time, possibly even as that protest.
01:27
What can we expect there?
01:29
It is probably a sign that Mr. Orbán and the Georgian Dream understood that this victory
01:34
is fragile and much less than was what was apparently expected from the government.
01:40
The whole day yesterday during the voting, the Georgian Dream was saying that they were
01:47
expecting the constitutional majority, and finally they are very far from that, with
01:51
just 54 percent.
01:52
The first person to congratulate the Georgian Dream was Viktor Orbán.
01:57
And then we found out that he is coming both as a prime minister of Hungary and maybe as
02:02
now the current leader, I would say, of European Union.
02:06
So he tries to bring, to give this election the legitimacy, the legitimacy to the victory
02:12
of the Georgian Dream.
02:15
We have to, I have to remind, to recall that Mr. Orbán is a long supporter of the Georgian
02:20
Dream, and since two, three years at least, he is really siding with this party and played
02:26
probably an important role, finally, to give Georgia, for example, the status of candidate
02:32
to the EU last December, last year.
02:35
So he really is an ally of this country, he's quite powerful, and it is helping this
02:41
Georgian Dream to say that they are still pro-European, but for another Europe, Europe
02:46
of the traditional values and so on.
02:48
That's why he's so important now for the Georgian Dream.
