01:25Legazpi Bishop Joel Bailon blames the destruction of nature for the quote-unquote worst flooding

01:30that the province of Albay has experienced in the past 30 years.

01:34In an interview with Radio Veritas, he attributes the floods to quarrying and other environmentally

01:39destructive activities.

01:41Bailon says, we cannot deny that this is part of the relentless destruction of the mountains

01:46here.

01:47In January, Albay Governor Edsel Greco-Lagman ordered a probe into illegal quarrying in

01:52the province.

01:53The Diocese of Legazpi, led by Bailon, has consistently sounded the alarm on the destruction

01:58of nature.

01:59Bailon also appeals for prayers and aid for flood victims.

02:03Albay is one of the worst-hit provinces by severe tropical storm Christine, international

02:07named Trami.

02:09More than 224,000 people are affected in Albay, out of a total of 1.67 million affected people

02:15in Bicol as of Thursday morning, October 24.

02:21Pop superstar Beyonce will be appearing with Democratic U.S. presidential candidate Kamala

02:25Harris at a rally in Houston, Texas, on Friday, October 25, Central Time.

02:30Citing anonymous sources, Reuters reports, the singer is expected to perform at the rally,

02:35and she will be coming with her mother, Tina Knowles.

02:38Texas is a Republican stronghold, and Harris is appearing there to support Democratic senatorial

02:43candidate Colin Allred, who trails the Republican Ted Cruz in polls.

02:47Harris is also expected to talk about abortion rights.

02:51Beyonce, who hails from Houston, has been a strong presence in Harris' campaign.

02:55Harris has adopted Beyonce's song, Freedom, as her campaign rally song.

03:02Beyonce has supported Democrats before, including President Joe Biden in 2020.

03:07The U.S. presidential race is on its 10th final leg before the vote on November 5.
