The Dallas Cowboys and San Francisco 49ers have one of the NFL’s most storied rivalries, and in Week 8, the next chapter unfolds. This time, both teams are desperate to bounce back after losses and prove their playoff potential.  The Cowboys enter the matchup at 3-3, coming off a tough defeat to the Detroit Lions just before their bye week. Historically, Dallas has thrived after byes, boasting a 24-11 record in such games since 1990, tied with Buffalo for third-most post-bye wins. This gives the Cowboys a mental edge, especially in primetime—a setting where they shine. Since 2021, Dallas holds the best primetime record in the NFL at 15-4 (.789).  However, the Cowboys are still reeling from a crushing 32-point loss to San Francisco earlier this season in Week 5. That loss marked the biggest defeat in their 64-year rivalry.
