00:00Yes, Jamie, and it's probably not by chance that it is happening in Saudi Arabia, as a
00:06regional normalization deal, which is led by Saudi Arabia on the Arab side, could be
00:14perhaps the biggest prize awaiting Israel if the war comes to an end, if some kind of
00:20a ceasefire deal and then a normalization deal eventually is reached.
00:25And that is what Secretary of State Blinken is trying to do, while in Saudi Arabia talking
00:31about the achievements, what Israel was able to win, to achieve on the battleground.
00:39Let's listen to what Secretary Blinken had to say.
00:43Israel has achieved most of its strategic objectives when it comes to Gaza, all with
00:48the idea of making sure that October 7th could never happen again.
00:52In the space of a year, it's managed to dismantle Hamas's military capacity, it's destroyed
00:58much of its arsenal, it's eliminated its senior leadership, including, most recently, Yahya
01:03Sinwar.
01:04This has covered the cost, great cost, to Palestinian civilians in Gaza.
01:10Now is the time to turn those successes into an enduring strategic success.
01:20So maybe if Israel achieved all that on the battleground, this is probably what Secretary
01:26Blinken is thinking.
01:27Now it's time for the war to come to an end, to have a ceasefire deal, to bring the hostages
01:32back and perhaps a bit further on to achieve a normalization deal in the region with Saudi
01:38Arabia.
01:39This is something that the administration is well aware that the Israeli government,
01:44especially Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, is something that Netanyahu would really be
01:49interested in.
01:50Northern Israel has confirmed the killing of Hezbollah's presumed successor.
02:00Hisham Safi Adin was the successor of Hassan Nasrallah and it took Israel three weeks to
02:06confirm that he was killed.
02:09Israel was basically saying that he was most probably killed as no one could have walked
02:14out alive from that bunker that was hit where Hisham Safi Adin was in.
02:19But only yesterday came the confirmation after his body was found and in those three weeks
02:26Israeli officials, whether it's the Prime Minister, the Defense Minister or the Chief
02:30of Staff, they said time and time again, we Israel have not only killed Hassan Nasrallah,
02:36we've killed the successor and the successor of his successor, meaning Israel was quite
02:40sure that this man was killed.
02:42The confirmation coming only yesterday and as far as Israel is concerned, it will continue
02:48to kill all the leadership of Hezbollah.
02:50This is one of the main aims of this military operation, not only acting in southern Lebanon
02:55through ground forces, but hitting targets in Beirut again and again, dismantling Hezbollah
03:00infrastructures and killing its leadership.
