00:00It's a pub in the bustling heart of the CBD, but for 10 months it hasn't existed, according
00:09to Google.
00:10People can't find us and they can't engage with our product and anyone who has a crack
00:15at looking for us will probably end up quite confused.
00:19Formerly known as the Ambassadors Hotel, Darren Brown renovated and rebranded the venue as
00:25the King William, but getting that updated on Google has been an uphill battle.
00:30The process is very painful because it feels like every time you email or every time you
00:36get a response or start, it's just starting the process all over again.
00:40With no business profile on Google, Mr Brown fears he's been losing out on substantial
00:46trade.
00:47Parts of this building are heritage listed and it's one of the oldest pubs in South Australia,
00:52but Darren says people just don't know it's here.
00:55Taking on the battle on Mr Brown's behalf, this marketing director says an official listing
01:01on Google is critical.
01:03It's like the kind of mother load or the centre point of your business, so if it's not there
01:07you're kind of like, what is this, does it exist?
01:10And Ms Recour says he's not her only client who's struggled to get the corporation to
01:15recognise their business.
01:17After the ABC made enquiries to Google this week, a spokesperson said they were investigating
01:23the matter and working to address the issue fully.
01:27Now the King William Hotel has finally been listed on Google with basic information and
01:32historic reviews, but Mr Brown says it's just taken too long.
01:38It seems pretty unfair, we're talking tens of thousands of dollars that I think I'm out
01:43of pocket.
01:44I think they certainly need a better process, like I'm sure they've got the finances to
01:48employ the right people and also just speed up the process.
01:51Nonetheless, a small cheers of celebration after an infuriating wait for this Adelaide
01:58venue.
