00:17step-by-step directions on how to hack websites.

00:21The AI not only identified the vulnerability but also provided a step-by-step guide to

00:25exploiting it.

00:27The team said it explained to ChatGPT that they were participating in a penetration testing

00:33challenge.

00:34A pen test is a technique for simulating a hack by employing various tools and strategies.

00:40The discovered flaws can assist organizations in strengthening the security of their systems.

00:46The chat bot responded with five basic starting points for what to inspect on the website

00:51in the search for vulnerabilities.

00:53By explaining what they see in the source code, the researchers got the AI's advice

00:57on which parts of the code to concentrate on.

01:00Also, they received examples of suggested code changes.

01:04After around 45 minutes of chatting with the chat bot, the researchers were eventually

01:09able to hack the provided website.

01:12At the end of each suggestion, the chat bot reminded the researchers about ethical hacking

01:18But the chat bot still provided that information.

01:21In the investigation, CyberNews researchers concluded that AI-based vulnerability scanners

01:26used by threat actors could have a disastrous impact on Internet security.

01:32On the plus side, the researchers believed that AI could provide detailed advice on exploiting

01:37any vulnerabilities in the event of a malicious attack.

01:40Even cybersecurity experts could use AI to prevent most data leaks.
