00:40You presented the documentary as part of the festival.

00:47How was this documentary received?

00:55It is a film that was made, co-written and co-produced with Abdelhamid Karim

01:05First of all, it is the fact of being in this great national film festival,

01:13in its 24th edition,

01:16to be in the competition of feature film documentaries.

01:27It is a space where we meet a lot of people.

01:32It is a party for all of us.

01:35So it was well received.

01:39The film was seen by a lot of people who appreciated it,

01:44especially people who wanted to discover this history of football.

01:49There were a lot of testimonies from people who watched during the debate.

01:57In any case, it is a documentary to see for football lovers

02:00because we discover our great Moroccan legends.

02:04There was a lot of research because we see it in this documentary

02:08that pays homage and highlights the history of these great names of Moroccan football.

02:17Aksbiel Abimbarak or Juste Fontaine,

02:26I imagine it was not easy to look for these pages of history to pay tribute.

02:33What was perhaps the hardest thing to do in this documentary that pays tribute to these legends?

02:39First of all, the idea of making this film was since 2018.

02:46While we were making our film on cycling,

02:52because we already have a film on the history of cycling in Morocco,

02:56which is about my father and many cyclists at the time.

03:01We met a lot of footballers who told us to do something about it,

03:06we don't want to fall into oblivion.

03:08The difficulty was first to find the images,

03:15to find the testimonies, to find all this panoply of archive images.

03:22It took five years of preparation, research, work.

03:28We started shooting this film in 2018,

03:36and when we started, unfortunately there was COVID-19,

03:40which forced us to stop shooting

03:46and devote ourselves much more to research.

03:50So the difficulty was in that.

03:56Besides that, there are people who are quite old,

04:00like Hassan Aqsbi,

04:03who is in love with men,

04:06how the testimonies were made,

04:09to receive us at his house.

04:11Because in this documentary, we wanted to tell the story,

04:15to go into the heart of the history of football,

04:17but to tell it by entering the history of the characters.

04:22Why? Because when we talk about history, people are afraid.

04:27And then there are those who can get bored.

04:29But when you tell the stories of men,

04:32of people who have lived this period,

04:34or their families,

04:36it gives you a breath of fresh air,

04:39it's a way to accept, to watch this film.

04:43So for us, the directors,

04:47whether it's Abdelhamid or me,

04:50we wanted to document this history of football

04:57by presenting the footballers who have really been an exploit.

05:04Because without these people,

05:06we wouldn't have had the football we have today.

05:09So Leïla Amine Demnaty,

05:11as you said, you made a first film,

05:13the little Miloudi,

05:15on Moroccan cycling,

05:17which is none other than your father.

06:58This child is 14 years old,
