00:00The group has spent the last five days finding their pace and gaining momentum
00:10toward the summit. But today, Mother Nature has something else in store.
00:20Holy crap, you can't see a thing. Day six, woke up, heard some things slapping the
00:26tent, got outside, and it's snowing. It is freezing, windy, foggy. Oh my god, Amy,
00:33this is insane. It's not good, bro. Being from Louisiana, I don't know if I've ever
00:39seen snow. Our first snow! Merry Christmas! I haven't seen snow in like three, four
00:46years. I only deal with heat in LA, but we got snow. I'm happy to see it, but I hope
00:52it's not here all day, because I think this is gonna suck. If it keeps as bad as
00:57this is, we might actually have to just hunker down. Yeah. I mean, I've never been in a
01:01whiteout, but it looks like I can't see anything. Visibility is bad. I did not
01:06expect to wake up to a whiteout. I think we've been pretty lucky and fortunate
01:09with the weather so far, but New Zealand is completely unpredictable, especially
01:15here in the mountains. Kind of an interesting morning, obviously, as you
01:18guys are seeing. Pretty white. I get a little bit worried, and if you guys
01:22disagree, please let me know, but I get a little bit worried about safety trying
01:25to navigate in this. I don't want to end up somewhere where we can't even hunker
01:29down for the night. If you guys want to, we could play it by ear and see if it
01:32opens up, but I don't know.
