00:00Well, the Americans are turning up the heat in the region already on edge.

00:06The Pentagon announced that the U.S. is deploying an anti-missile defense system to Israel,

00:11highlighting growing concerns over Israel's existing air defenses.

00:14Now, on Sunday, a Hezbollah drone attack hit a base housing elite Israeli troops, killing

00:19and wounding dozens of them.

00:21How a Hezbollah drone eluded Israeli fighter jets, helicopters, and of course, the Iron

00:25Dome defense system is a subject of urgent inquiry in Israel at the moment.

00:30Meanwhile, Iran's large-scale ballistic missile attack on Israel earlier this month was of

00:34a different magnitude, of course, but it too appears to have inflicted far more damage

00:39than was initially acknowledged.

00:41With Israel expected to retaliate against Iran, Genocide Joe is sparing no expense to

00:45shield the Israelis.

00:47The Americans are now deploying this specialized terminal high-altitude area defense, or THAAD,

00:52system.

00:54Now, THAAD is designed to defend against ballistic missiles, and it comes with a crew of nearly

00:57100 U.S. troops.

00:59That means American boots on the ground in Israel, but it also means more taxpayer cash

01:03being spent on Israel's defense.

01:06Just one THAAD battery costs about $1 billion U.S. dollars.

01:10Now, THAAD will line up alongside long- and medium-range defense systems that the Israelis

01:15already have in place.

01:16That's the Arrow 2 and 3 and David's Sling.

01:19But Iran has plenty of ballistic missiles that it hasn't used yet, and many experts

01:23agree that some of those could bypass the THAAD system.
