Detroit Turns into an Ice Rink

Southwest Detroit turned into a frozen landscape on Monday after a water main burst, flooding the streets with icy water.


The rupture happened early in the morning as temperatures plunged to -17°C (1.4°F).


The pipe, nearly a century old, gave way, though the exact cause remains unknown.
