A container of smuggled white onions was found in the vault of the Bureau of Plant Industry and Bureau of Customs.

According to the investigation, the shipment arrived in the Philippines from China in July.

The shipment was imported for the same month and the permits for the importation of the products were suspended.

This means that the importation of onions is illegal.

The authorities have already confiscated the smuggled onions worth P3.5 million.

According to the Agriculture Department, the agency will not stop arresting those who are involved.
