00:00Good evening and welcome to your latest weather update from the Met Office.
00:04Rain arriving from the west as we head through this evening but many places staying cool and
00:09cloudy through tonight. This is the satellite image from earlier today, so a fairly cloudy
00:14picture for much of the UK, a few hazy breaks further east and we're starting to see that rain
00:19already pushing in through the afternoon. And back to this evening, this is where the rain will be
00:24around 6pm, slowly starting to turn more persistent across the north west of Scotland. This is the
00:29main area of heavy rain pushing into Cornwall and parts of Wales and Devon through this evening.
00:34Heavy downpours here and fairly blustery conditions as that slowly moves eastwards
00:38through the early hours of Monday. So with the cloud and with those strengthening winds it's
00:43going to be notably milder to start on Monday, 12 or 13 degrees on the south coast of the UK
00:49and in the south west as well. Further north there will still be single figure locations for parts of
00:55the Northern Ireland and also Scotland as well under clear skies and there could still be a rural
01:01grass frost as well in a few spots but certainly less widespread than we've seen for the last
01:05couple of days. So still some cool crisp autumnal mornings across Scotland and Northern Ireland but
01:12grey and wet to start the day for much of Wales and the southern half of England. That rain will
01:17slowly and steadily move eastwards through the morning, becoming lighter. Most places dry by
01:22the time we head into the afternoon, just some rain lingering on that North Sea coast and also
01:26some rain lingering for the far north west of Scotland. For parts of Scotland though we will
01:32see some drier and brighter conditions and with that southerly flow temperatures will be picking
01:36up a little bit so likely to get into the double figures on Monday for Scotland, Northern Ireland
01:43and Northern England. Further south again milder but with the cloud cover again it's still going to
01:48fairly cool out so the 16 degrees in the far southwest is probably the mildest that we'll see
01:54on Monday. Heading through the rest of Monday then so that cloud is pretty stubborn, it's going to
01:59linger on as we head through the evening and as we start to see that southerly breeze pick up into
02:04the early hours of Tuesday it's going to spread that cloud again up most of the UK. So still some
02:09clear spots lingering on for parts of North East Scotland and here we could still see temperatures
02:15down in towards the single figures but it's going to be noticeably milder again still in towards
02:20Tuesday morning, more widespread cloud and wind to start the day on Tuesday. So a very cloudy and
02:28blustery start on Tuesday. These winds will be strengthening and noticeably on coasts and some
02:33over some high ground particularly for parts of Scotland through Tuesday. On the high ground
02:38you may just see a few drizzly outbreaks as well before we see some further showers arriving from
02:44the west later on in the afternoon on Tuesday. So again as we go through the next couple of days
02:49those temperatures beginning to creep up 17 or 18 as a maximum across the southern half of the UK.
02:55Again just creeping into double figures across the far north but still it's going to be a fairly
03:00cloudy affair and if you're on those coasts and in those exposed winds again it could still feel
03:05fairly chilly too. Moving through Tuesday evening we start to see further showers moving in from the
03:13west so if you want to check out what Wednesday has in store please do look at our YouTube channel.
