01:51Meanwhile, the recovery of the tourism industry is what NEDA sees as the reason for lowering the unemployment rate in the country,

01:59Even now, they are still not able to overcome their challenges in the labor force,

02:03including underemployment and job mismatch.

02:06That is why they launched the Work for the Country Plan,

02:09a 10-year roadmap that will be a guide for the more active and strong employment generation in the country.

02:15It is proven that NEDA is now visiting various parts of the country to conduct consultations on this issue.

02:22Our objective here is for our labor market to be very dynamic, to be very agile.

02:29Because what we see is that although our unemployment rate is decreasing,

02:33we can still see that underemployment is still high.

02:36And the quality of employment is one of the things that needs to be fixed.

02:41Another thing that NEDA is pushing for to strengthen the labor force in the country

02:45is to strengthen the access of workers on the internet

02:48through the support of the Connected Filipino Bill

02:51for the upscaling and retooling of Filipino workers with the help of the internet.
