Concerns raised as lorries reverse down farm track near Sandwich Station to reach housing development
Transcript
00:00Roughly 30 years ago British Rail opened up this track for disabled access for families with prams
00:08so they didn't have to cross the footbridge. Whenever a train comes in there's a handful of
00:14people, at school times there's a lot of people maybe 100-200 kids coming through here for
00:21sandwich tech. Recently a developer has decided to use this entrance to get to their site rather
00:28than their own entrance. The development site is very small so they can't turn around in it.
00:38As it's wet they're reversing construction vehicles around a blind corner with potentially
00:45people with disability scooters, bicycles, 100 school kids suddenly meeting a reversing
00:55construction vehicle. Really I would just like it to be made safer. The safest way would be to
01:00use their own entrance so construction vehicles don't use British Rail's road. Failing that
01:07signage you're moving a banksman in so that they can stop the construction vehicles
01:14if pedestrians are walking down British Rail's track.
