00:00My name is Alexa Burnett, I'm the Director here at River Museum Trust and we're stood today in the schoolroom in the main block
00:07and this place will be completely transformed by the very generous £2.5 million that we've secured from the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
00:14We have got big plans for this building, we're already a really interesting place to visit,
00:20you can draw really great contemporary parallels between people who live on the edge of society then and the edge of society now
00:27but we're going to be able to do that so much better once we have this money.
00:30We'll have a programme activity to reach our audiences, we'll absolutely transform this building that I'm stood in now
00:36to make it a really interesting visitor experience and the most important thing is we're going to fix the leaks in the building.
00:41So we'll have fixed the roof and we'll have new energy efficient insulation.
00:46So it's such a massive project for us and it's a really exciting time for our museums.
00:52When do you think you're going to start this project?
00:55Well in terms of starting the project, work begins in earnest now but when the capital works start we're probably looking at that this time next year.
