00:00So what does that look like?
00:01Well, let's show you.
00:02Imagine this.
00:03Imagine three feet of storm surge right here.
00:06Now, if this amount of water catches you by surprise,
00:08it's too late to evacuate.
00:11Cars are floating around in a floating way.
00:13There's large objects in here that
00:14could knock things down with a battering ram-like force.
00:18Now, there's no way, again, to evacuate
00:20with this kind of storm surge.
00:21But we know there's going to be places
00:23with more than three feet.
00:24Imagine six feet of storm surge.
00:27Now, this completely floods out the first floors
00:30of homes and businesses.
00:32And the only way to escape that is
00:34to move to the higher floor of a building.
00:37Now, unfortunately, there are going to be places that get
00:39more than six feet of storm surge flooding.
00:42Imagine this.
00:43Nine feet, and even beyond, of flooding, of inundation.
00:47This is practically not survivable.
00:49So please follow the advice of your local officials
00:52when they ask you to evacuate.
00:55And if you have any questions about what evacuation zone
00:58you're in, if you need to go, and or where you need to go,
01:02go to floridadasaster.org.
01:05And by all means, everybody, please stay safe.
