He is overwhelmed by the sight of such a tranquil location now overtaken by floodwaters. The river, swollen to a level Michael has never seen before, adds to his astonishment.   But it’s not just the river feeling the pressure—floodwater has inundated the ground underfoot as the underground drainage system struggles to cope with the massive influx.
