00:00A powerful hurricane to reach the coast of Florida as we get into the late evening hours
00:19tomorrow night or the early morning hours on Thursday.
00:23Still expecting Milton to be a powerful major hurricane as it approaches the coast of Florida,
00:28bringing widespread impacts from both wind and storm surge.
00:32I can't stress enough that this is not an if event, it's a when event, and we are into
00:38the final hours.
00:41So some of us may have had it in the back of our minds that it's going to turn, it's
00:44going to miss us.
00:46We're going to get hit, whether it's a direct hit or it moves slightly, there's just no
00:52ifs or buts about it.
00:54We're going to get hit and it's going to be hard.
00:56We were ordered to evacuate and if anybody knows anything about Florida, when you don't
01:01evacuate when you're ordered to, you can pretty much die.
01:08They've had a lot of people here stay at their homes and they end up drowning and it's just
01:13not worth it.
01:15The house can be replaced, the stuff can be replaced, so it's just better to get out of
01:20town.
01:21We're going to evacuate tomorrow.
01:22We have a place to go.
01:24It's in a no flood zone so we'll be okay, as long as the house can stand up to the winds
01:32of course.
01:33But we shouldn't get flooded out.
01:34If you can leave, leave, please, just go, find a shelter, a neighbor, somebody.
01:45And then the mayor said if you don't leave you're going to die, it's scary.
01:50Hopefully I come home, my house is still here, my car is still here, but it is what it is.
01:57Just a week ago, one of the houses got flooded, three and a half feet, and now we're just
02:03expecting the worst, but as long as we have God in our hearts and we have the strength,
02:10I think that's what matters.
02:12We have our family, we have God, and that's all we need to make it no matter where.
02:20We have nine African penguins and they are on our first floor in their home, but we do
02:29have a temporary home built for them and they moved up to the second floor, well above any
02:33type of tidal surge that might affect the building.
02:36And then we have several animals around the building that are on the ground floor that
02:41have all moved to second floor locations and safe locations that we planned for things
02:46like this so they have nice homes, even though they may be a little temporary.
