Marcos on executed Pinoy in Saudi: We had few options left, we tried everything

00:00very little we had left to do. We had very few options left. We tried everything, and for many, many years.

00:08And the Saudi government really tried to look and to be sure that the judgment of Hague was actually disturbed.

00:26Nonetheless, we appealed to the better natures, I guess, of our friends in Saudi Arabia to perhaps have another look.

00:39And unfortunately, the law there is very strict, and apparently the conviction has stood, and one of ours has been taken away.

00:55But yes, very unfortunate.

00:59Sir, do you have a message for the bereaved family?

01:02Of course, our thoughts and prayers are with them. There is nothing that one can do to make it whole, but we will do our best.

01:24But for some of the guys abroad, there are many procedures for that, to bring them home, so I don't know.

01:35But we've exhausted all their means.

01:37Oh my God, it's been going on for how many years?

01:40It's around five, six years.

01:41Yeah, I remember, five, six years ago. I came upon it when I came into office, and they told me it's an open case.

01:50And as I said, I guess Saudi Arabia is also possibly doing this, to some degree, but I don't know.
