00:06and Alabama, your nation has your back.

00:10Last week, I spent time in four states to see firsthand how you're doing and to thank

00:15the first responders who run toward danger.

00:18I saw homes destroyed, businesses wiped out, bridges washed away, survivors in shock, and

00:24families grieving.

00:26We grieve with you.

00:27This is more heartache than any one community can bear.

00:31In moments like this, there are no red or blue states.

00:35No matter how you vote, we help each other when disaster strikes because we are one United

00:41States of America.

00:43That's why even before the storm hit, I searched federal support to help communities prepare

00:48and save lives.

00:49Thousands of personnel are now on the ground all across the Southeast to find missing persons,

00:54to clear debris, to deliver food and water, and to start the hard work of recovery.

01:00FEMA is knocking on doors to sign up survivors for direct immediate financial aid because

01:05many of them need it now.

01:07And I've directed my team to stay there 24-7 with you until this job is done.

01:13Thank you to first responders and everyone who is supporting someone in need.

01:18Neighbors helping neighbors, acts of kindness, keeping communities together, people leaning

01:23on each other to pick up the pieces of shattered lives.

01:27People around the country asking, can I come in and help?
