00:00All rise.
00:01This year, we're pushing it.
00:02I don't think it's possible for you
00:03to watch this in a passive way.
00:05Court is now in session.
00:07It's putting pieces of a puzzle together.
00:09It's definitely a motion of a roller coaster.
00:11How does the defendant plead?
00:14I think the brilliance of this new season of Accused
00:17is that it doesn't give you answers.
00:20It asks questions.
00:22Is it happening again?
00:23It's not a whodunit.
00:24It's a what happened and why.
00:27Get down.
00:28Stories that aren't just cut and dry.
00:30They're dealing with very complex issues
00:32that occur all around us.
00:35This is about morality.
00:36A potent look into a really difficult set
00:40of circumstances.
00:41You're going to kill someone.
00:44The thing that drew me to Accused
00:47was the anthology aspect of it.
00:49We have a new story and a new cast every week.
00:51It really is sort of like making a little movie.
00:55There's a real magic in an anthology series
00:58because between every episode, the visual language
01:01is different.
01:02The characters are different.
01:03The cast, the level of talent we've
01:04attracted for this show, we've gotten
01:06incredibly lucky this season.
01:07We have Felicity Huffman and Bill Macy, Taylor Schilling,
01:10Justin Chambers, Nick Cannon, Patrick Adams.
01:12Michael Chiklis is coming back.
01:14I can't make this right, but I can at least do this.
01:18Deborah Winger, Kobe Smulders, Ken Jeong.
01:20It's just a sort of embarrassment of riches.
01:22Every actor has to endorse their character.
01:26They have to make you want to engage with it.
01:28You're calling me a racist.
01:29You said it, not me.
01:30I don't know how you could watch this
01:32and not feel tremendous empathy for what
01:34these people are going through.
01:36It kind of puts you in that mindset of, what would you do?
01:39This is meant to make people feel.
01:42You really get to see the full story,
01:44not what is just presented in a court of law.
01:47And I think that is the fun part of watching it.
01:49Just when you think you have the answer,
01:51then it sort of does a 90 degree turn,
01:52and you're not sure anymore.
01:54All these twists and turns.
01:55You're on the edge of your seat.
01:56You're like, guilty or not guilty.
01:58And for what? Who did what?
01:59It's so engrossing.
02:01You're either going to eat a whole thing of popcorn,
02:03or you're going to chew your fingernails off.
02:05It's just really good.
