00:00The Philippine Sambo Team has once again returned home for the Combat Sports of the Philippine Samboists

00:09in their category event in Nagoya, Japan.

00:12Paul Salamatin reports for PTV Sports.

00:20The 2020 Southeast Asian Games gold medalist Chino C. Tangkontian won the men's blue belt adult super heavy division

00:28while Godwin Langbayan won two gold medals in the Men's Master 1GI and NoGI 76 and 78kg event

00:37just after the World Jiu-Jitsu Championship in Nagoya, Japan.

00:41Aside from Chino Tangkontian and Godwin Langbayan,

00:43the Philippine Sambo Team won seven gold medals in the competition including 11 silver medals and 25 bronze medals.

00:50In PTV Sports' interview, the Philippine Sambo Federation President Paul Tangkontian shared

00:55that it was historical for Chino to win such a medal in the competition

01:00where it was his first time playing Jiu-Jitsu in a combat style.

01:06It was a total domination because it was an experience.

01:10It was one of the learning experiences.

01:13We were able to win even though it was a different event.

01:21It was like a criss-cross.

01:25If there is an available tournament, we can join.

01:29The Philippine Sambo President added that this was one of their preparations for Chino and the whole team

01:35to expose themselves to all the world competitions

01:38instead of going to the local tournaments where they usually win.

01:44You will be able to gauge how good you are and what level you are at.

01:51If you play a lot of different games.

01:55After the competition, Chino and his brother and Sydney, a C-Games medalist,

02:02will prepare for the competition they will join this year for ASAM

02:08to qualify for the Los Angeles Olympics in 2028.
