00:00On the third day of filing of candidate certificates of candidacy, the obscure and the obviously

00:05familiar showed up to put their applications on record.

00:09Among the more familiar faces or personalities who formally signified their intent to run

00:14for office as rookie or re-electionist included Makati Vice Mayor Monique Blagdameo seeking

00:21a congressional seat, ex-Tagig Mayor Lino Cayetano wanting back power in the city government,

00:29and Manila's incumbent Hani Lacuña and her partymates seeking to extend their terms amidst

00:35a comeback of former ally turned rival and predecessor Francisco Escodo Moreno Domagoso

00:42as we hear more from our Mela Lesmoras.

00:52Manila 1st District Representative Ernix Dionisio was received with loud cheers and lively chants

00:58by his welcoming supporters as he arrived at the Comelec NCR office in Quezon City.

01:04Dionisio filed his certificate of candidacy for re-election accompanied by prominent aspirants

01:09for Mayor and Vice Mayor of Manila, former Mayor Isko Moreno and former PTV host Chi

01:14Atienza.

01:15We wish to continue all that we have done for Tondo, now I'm with Jormie Isko and Vice

01:21Mayor Chi Atienza and exciting times for the City of Manila and for the 1st District Tondo

01:26Manila.

01:27In an interview, Moreno was asked by the media about Manila Mayor Hani Lacuña.

01:32The two were former allies, but it's widely speculated they will face off in the upcoming

01:36elections.

01:37Lacuña even said she felt betrayed, to which Moreno said,

01:41I will let the people of Manila answer, peace be with you.

01:46Meanwhile, as for the Tagig-Pateros District, former Tagig City Mayor Lino Cayetano has

01:51also filed his certificate of candidacy accompanied by his family.

01:56I am happy to serve again in Tagig, and now I am Tagig-Pateros, I am excited to help my

02:03fellow citizens find new solutions to our old problems.

02:09As of now, 31 individuals have already filed their COCs for congressional seats in Metro

02:14Manila since Tuesday.

02:16As early as now, some have already showcased their platforms.

02:19I want to be able to contribute to social services, though we are already divided, there

02:24are still some things that we can contribute to.

02:26Well, in Manila, I am the principal author of the Anti-Discrimination Ordinance for LGBT.

02:32So, if I don't pass in Congress, I will participate in the deliberation of that law.

02:39I hope we can help there.

02:41Two of the COC filers are expected to challenge the prominent political families in Las Pinas

02:47and Quezon City.

02:48If elected, they want to put up measures against political dynasties.

02:52Siblings, cousins, mothers.

02:55Is there no other?

02:56Relatives and followers.

02:58You know, if you belong to the same family, that's a political dynasty.

03:02Let's cut and stop the political dynasty.

03:07That is the reason why we are having poverty and corruption in our country.

03:15And here in Las Pinas, our fight will begin.

03:19There are five days left for those who still wish to file their certificates of candidacy.

03:24The Comilic NCR reminds everyone.

03:26I am appealing to those who are planning to run.

03:30File your COC early or have it checked before the last minute of the filing of the COC.
