00:00Dive in the divine world of dates with this sugar-free sweetness wrapped in a roll.
00:04And today I'm going to prepare a dessert favourite, that is Khajoor Roll.
00:11I'm going to start with roasting some Nuts.
00:13So let's heat a tsp of Ghee.
00:16Add in 1.5 a cup of chopped Almonds.
00:191.5 a cup of chopped Cashews.
00:221.5 a cup of chopped Pistachios.
00:242 tbsp of Poppy Seeds or Khus-Khus.
00:28Roast all these ingredients on low heat for around 2 to 3 minutes.
00:34Add in 1.5 a tsp of Cardamom Powder.
00:41And turn off the flame.
00:43And remove it in a bowl and let it cool down.
00:48In the same pan, again I'm going to heat up 1 tbsp of Ghee.
00:53I have here 500 gms of Black Seedless Dates that I've chopped finely.
01:00On low heat, cook the dates till they are nice and soft.
01:07And now let's remove this from the pan and let it cool down.
01:17Take around a big heaped tbsp of the Date mixture.
01:23May be half more.
01:25And mix it with the Nuts.
01:28So that it helps in binding all the Nuts together.
01:32This is good enough.
01:35Spread an Aluminium sheet on the kitchen counter.
01:38Apply a little bit of Ghee.
01:40Take the Date ball.
01:43Just knead it lightly.
01:48Place it on the sheet.
01:50Lightly spread it with greased fingers.
01:54And then we're going to cover it with a cling film.
02:01And start rolling this into a rectangle sheet.
02:07Once you're done rolling it, carefully remove the cling film.
02:11You can see it's about 2-3 mm thick.
02:15Since this is a longer side, I'm going to place the filling this way.
02:23Leave a little bit of the Date sheets on both the sides.
02:28I'm just going to turn this towards me.
02:30With the Aluminium foil, very carefully roll it.
02:35Pick it up.
02:38Whatever is the extra Date sheet, just cut it and remove it.
02:45Just roll it.
02:47Very carefully remove the foil now.
02:51Take the roll from the foil.
02:54Place the roll on the cling film.
02:57Just smoothen it out.
02:59Take some Roasted Poppy Seeds.
03:01Spread them over the cling film.
03:04Make sure they get stuck evenly.
03:08Wrap the roll in cling film.
03:10Wrap the roll in cling film.
03:16And let this refrigerate for 10 minutes.
03:20After setting the log for 10 minutes in the fridge,
03:23let's cut them into slices.
03:26So don't remove the cling film.
03:31This nutritious Khajuroll is ready.
03:34If you do not want to make it like a separate stuffing and a coating on top,
03:38what you can do is just warm up the dates and then add in all the nuts,
03:42make a log, cut it into slices and you're ready to go.
