00:00One year, Abdul Malik sent his son Hisham to perform Hajj in Mecca.
00:08When Hisham was around the Kaaba, he decided to go and touch Hajj al-Aswad, the heavenly
00:13rock.
00:14However, he was unable to reach it due to the crowd.
00:16Shortly after, while watching the Kaaba, he noticed Imam Sajjad coming through the crowd.
00:21The crowd moved away with respect in making room for the Imam to reach Hajj al-Aswad.
00:26Hisham felt offended by the great respect people had shown to the Imam.
00:30He pretended not to know the Imam.
00:32A poet by the name Farazdaq, who had close ties to Banu Marwan's government, witnessed
00:37this incident and told Hisham that, I know that man and can describe him for you.
00:41He then recited a long and beautiful poem describing and praising the Imam.
00:46Hisham became angry and ordered to cut Farazdaq's allowance from Bayt al-Maal and imprison him.
00:56After his custody was lengthened, Farazdaq requested the Imam to pray for his release.
01:08He then was released and came to the Imam and told him that his allowance was stopped
01:11by the government.
01:12The Imam provided him with allowance even though he was hesitant to accept it.
01:16The Imam gave him the amount of allowance for a specific number of years and told him
01:20that, if I knew that you would need more, I would definitely provide you with more.
01:24Only upon the completion of these years, Farazdaq passed away.
