00:00We'll start with the better game of the bunch that was between the Lions and the Seahawks.

00:10Seattle entered last night one of five teams at the end of three weeks that was a perfect

00:14undefeated 3-0, first L of the year for Seattle.

00:19Detroit improves the 3-1 as well in a high scoring affair.

00:24The Lions victorious at home, 42-29.

00:28Detroit cruises to a cover as a 4.5 point home, favorite 46.5, does sky over as your

00:35total.

00:37We'll look at the stats on a Monday night in just a second.

00:42But Joe, as you approach this game last night, the Lions lay in 4.5 at home, albeit against

00:48an unbeaten opponent in the Seattle Seahawks.

00:53How did the game match what you expected?

00:56So it was 3.5 for most of the week for Detroit, Ben, and then we started to get confirmation

01:02on just how banged up that defensive front of the Seattle Seahawks were.

01:08They were missing a lot of very key pieces there.

01:11We also learned late that Deion, Brian Branch, rather, their leading tackler for Detroit,

01:18their safety and his backup were going to be out.

01:20So we didn't, you know, you thought maybe the over was the right side in this, given

01:26the fact that both teams offensively have enough firepower to keep up.

01:31But the ultimate takeaway for me in this game was the fact that Seattle needs to win by

01:38playing from in front.

01:39They were behind two scores in this game almost immediately, Ben, and it forced them to play

01:45catch up and not play the style of football where they could take the game over with the

01:50running game.

01:52And that was kind of the problem.

01:54The minute you have Geno Smith having to bring you back from two scores the whole game, it's

01:58a recipe for disaster.

01:59And it was a disaster, unfortunately, in the final 10 minutes in the fourth quarter there

02:05where they just had to punt and then kept turning the ball over.

02:08And that was all she wrote is they could not stop with those defensive guys missing on

02:13the defensive front.

02:15They just could not stop the running game and Jared Goff last night.
