A great way to enhance your brand’s recognition is through BIMI (Brand Indicators for Message Identification). Particularly favorable for SMEs using emails for interacting with customers, this added brand element showcases authenticity and gives a competitive edge in the industry. The emails appear with a trademark logo, further protecting your business from email spoofing. In this video, we talk about why businesses should upgrade and make the switch to BIMI.

00:00And the next level is called BIMI and this is a fairly new protocol that Google has rolled out I think just in the last year or two and this is an additional layer of authentication for brands to ensure that if you're sending emails out to users or to customers that they can easily verify that they're getting emails from a real brand, you know, from your business. So Adrian, I'll let you share a little bit about this one.
00:27Yeah, so as you can see in these two images on the left, you've got the four different companies, but it's just showing the letter, but on the right, it's actually showing the icon, the brand, because that's what, to get this enforced, you actually need to trademark your company logo.
00:46And then once you do that, you verify it with Google and then it works with the verification similar to SPF as well. So not only is it a visual representation of verification, but it also works in the backend for the domain to verify it as well.
01:04And on the next slide, there's an example to show, you can see, we set this up with Onsite Helper, just put out the email address, but you've got a tick there to say this sender has verified ownership of the logo.
01:19And this is what all the big companies are doing now. So if you're sort of the medium to larger size business, you really want this set up to be reputable in your business. It's also good for small businesses, but, you know, the bigger players out there all have their brands trademarked and verified with Google to enhance email delivery and prevent spoofing, as you mentioned before, Pete.
01:48Yeah, thank you. And yeah, like anything, anything you can do to basically verify your domain with people receiving it helps. The blue ticks are now ubiquitous across social media platforms. And, you know, that recognition just helps people understand this is a real business, but it also elevates your brand.
02:09You know, it also shows, okay, these guys are the real deal. They've gone to the trouble of verifying, which is pretty cool from, you know, like with my marketing hat on. I like that too.
