Pope ends troubled visit to Belgium demanding sex abusing clergy are judged

Francis' visit to Belgium was always going to be difficult given the country's history of clerical sexual abuse and its increasingly secular society.

00:12day of the visit of Pope Francis, there's a crowd here of around 39,000 people, as he

00:17says mass. In his homily, Pope Francis talked about the importance for mercy, for those

00:22who have made mistakes, for compassion for those suffering, including asylum seekers

00:26and refugees. And once again, he referred to the marketplace in relation to the impact

00:31it has on social injustice and social inequality. But for all this adoring crowd here today,

00:38it's undoubted that the visit of Pope Francis to Belgium has been dominated by the legacy

00:42of child sexual abuse, both here and across the world. He was called upon by Prime Minister

00:48de Croix, by the King of Belgium and by survivors themselves to compensate those who have suffered
