00:00I think, yes, yes, this is really frightening.
00:06It blows my mind.
00:08For lovers of the horror genre,
00:10it will be a really satisfying experience.
00:13Apartment 7A is really about one young woman's ambitions
00:17to become a Broadway star
00:19and how far she's willing to go to achieve her dreams.
00:24She's down on her luck and she comes across
00:26this seemingly harmless elderly old couple.
00:29We want to help.
00:30The place is yours if you want it.
00:33Terry, you don't even know these people.
00:35Look, moving into my own place feels like a first step.
00:38From the both of us.
00:40I feel very lucky.
00:46I know what you want.
00:48What do you see?
00:51And slowly gets drawn into their world.
00:56It's nail-biting stuff.
00:59It's psychologically intriguing
01:01and disturbing in equal measures.
01:03The whole script is wonderful.
01:05I couldn't stop reading.
01:07I think this belonged to your old tenant.
01:09She skipped out of here like Cinderella at midnight.
01:13As soon as I started reading it,
01:14I was like, this is a dream project.
01:16There's so many facets to the story
01:17that are things I look for.
01:19It's beautifully crafted.
01:20I don't think audiences would have seen something like this
01:22in a wee while.
01:23You're supposed to be warriors.
01:24Show me some teeth.
01:26The story takes place in New York City, 1965.
01:29Any period New York movie is a dream.
01:32And apartment 7A is in the Brantford.
01:34It's just one of those iconic settings.
01:37It's been such a joy as a designer
01:39to come up with these spaces.
01:40And that's also very eerie.
01:42It's very dark.
01:43It's very mysterious.
01:44To sort of set the film
01:45in the sort of Broadway musical scene
01:47is a really interesting place
01:49for a film like this to exist.
01:50The world that they've created here,
01:52the sets, Natalie,
01:54I think the director's attention to detail.
01:56I've been floored by the cast in this movie.
01:59Julia just has such an incredible spark.
02:03She's just so compelling.
02:06Wish me luck, Mama.
02:09She's trapped.
02:10You have every single thing you ever wanted
02:12handed to you on a silver platter.
02:15And that to me is the most terrifying thing of all,
02:17to be trapped and unable to get out.
02:21This is so much bigger than me.
02:23Run from this.
02:25It's a real blend of genres.
02:27It has something for everyone.
02:28A bit of thriller.
02:30A bit of horror.
02:32A bit of musical theater.
02:35I think it's really going to be an entertaining ride.
02:39I think this film is equally creepy
02:41as it is surreal and wild and fun and exciting.
02:44Baby's here to stay.
02:46I mean, it's another dimension of fear.
02:49It's just magnificent.
02:51This is very exciting for me.
02:53This feels like a dream.
