00:00Welcome back everyone it's Charlie Star Wars just made a few big announcements about the
00:21future of the movies and the shows and about the future of Cal Kestis in the games and
00:27in live action.
00:28So we'll break it all down and everybody's been asking when he's going to show up in
00:31live action because they do have a plan to bring him to live action.

00:43up live action portrayals of the character.

01:20They've been waiting to bring him to live action.
01:22Recently EA games confirmed that the third Jedi survivor game will be the end of his
01:27story in the games.
01:29They always intended for his games to be a trilogy of stories.
01:31That's what everybody was worried about.
01:33Like is he going to die at the end of the third game.
01:35It sounds like not because their plan to bring into live action be kind of hard to do that
01:39if you kill him off at the end of his last game separately is Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau
01:44have basically been carrying Star Wars through his next era on their backs with the Mandalorian
01:48Ahsoka now the other upcoming Mandalorian Grogu movies the Thrawn movie after that the
01:53brand-new skeleton crew series that I just did a trailer video for with Jude Law that
01:57mystery Jedi character this releasing later this year also connected to the Mandalorian
02:02in Ahsoka those of the shows in that part of the timeline.
02:05So you can see the Star Wars is focusing more and more on the Mando part of the timeline
02:10in those characters for the shows and for the future of the movies David just canceled
02:15a couple of the other upcoming Star Wars movies and TV series from other eras in the timeline
02:20so that they could focus more on the Mando related stuff just to show you how much they're
02:25betting all their chips on those characters.
02:28There are a couple unannounced TV series that are in development.
02:32One of them sounds like they're can be based on Cal Kestis and his group of characters
02:36from the Jedi survivor games based on the reports of them introducing him on one of the
02:41upcoming Disney plus series.
02:43It sounds like what they're doing is giving him the Ahsoka treatment that she got early
02:47on the Mandalorian's life.
02:49If you remember they introduced live-action Ahsoka on the Mandalorian season two first
02:53then gave her her own spinoff TV series.
02:56If they're gonna do something similar for Cal Kestis we can actually narrow down where
03:00he would show up first which show it's gonna be before he go off to his own spinoff series
03:04people have been asking Cameron Monaghan in real life at conventions when he's gonna
03:08show up on the TV series and for the most part he just reiterated that they plan to
03:12focus mostly on the games right now until the games are done.
03:16Meaning they were planning on doing him in live-action until they were done with all
03:20the games.
03:21So remember the third game will be the last game.
03:24They haven't said when they're releasing that last game.
03:26Most people believe 2027 they've been working on it for a while already.
03:30We probably won't hear about that for another year or two.
03:33It's always possible that he does get a cameo on one of the upcoming shows that releases
03:37in 2026 right before that game would release.
03:40But for right now I think it's safer to assume we don't actually see him show up in live-action
03:44until the last game is out making it more like 2027.
03:47If he shows up before that will just called a special treat.
03:50Now the next important detail.
03:52We just learned about which movies and shows Star Wars canceled recently and which ones
03:57they're prioritizing.
03:58So we have a pretty good idea of where he could show up first just charting the timeline
04:03because you always wonder how old are all these characters because most of what we seen
04:07of him is much earlier in the timeline after order 66.
04:10If it wasn't clear from all the games or you don't know the timeline Cal Kestis is about
04:14four years younger than Ahsoka during present day on the Ahsoka series right around the
04:19time of Mandalorian season three is happening.
04:21She's about 47 years old about the same age as the Mando meaning the Cal Kestis would
04:26be around 43 like in his early 40s somewhere.
04:29So just keep that in mind he's much older than Sabine and Ezra Bridger.
04:33For example, right now Star Wars current schedule of movies and TV shows for the next couple
04:38of years that they've announced so far is Ahsoka season two.
04:42We found out that will premiere till 2026 they revealed the not gonna shoot it till 2025
04:46which is why I say 2026 kind of a bummer about that because are so focused on shooting the
04:52Mandalorian and Grogu movie right now.
04:54Speaking of which the Mandalorian season four has been canceled.
04:58They do not plan to do it after the Mandalorian and Grogu movie all because they basically
05:03took the story for the Mandalorian season for the Jon Favreau had written like he wrote
05:07all the episodes already.
05:08They just turn those into the movie.
05:11I've already done a Mandalorian and Grogu trailer video.

05:17of the movie.

06:27This is basically the end of the Mandalorian as a Disney plus series like the future of
06:32the Mandalorian and Grogu are just in the movies and just showing up on other people's
06:36TV series like Ahsoka for example make sense to basically trying to take their most popular
06:41characters and reinvigorate the movies using them.
06:43So they want to focus on getting people into theaters to see them not on Disney plus Ahsoka
06:48is basically taking over as like the new main flagship TV series they're focusing on because
06:53and or season two is the final season of that show.
06:56They just canceled the acolyte also in a different part of the timeline and the skeleton crew
07:01TV series which I just did a trailer video for is only meant to be one season with the
07:06kids because kids age so fast just see all my jokes about the stranger things kids in
07:11my other videos.
07:12There are a lot of series like this like avatar the last airbender anytime you cast young
07:16kids for TV series they grow so fast that is really hard to do multiple seasons of a
07:21TV show unless you film it all back to back to back and they have not done that with skeleton
07:25crew.
07:26I believe their idea is they just bring Jude Law's mystery former Jedi character back in
07:32future series or other TV series, but they're mostly focused on his character not the kids
07:37and that's basically it for the live-action TV series they've announced there's a couple
07:41unannounced ones like I said, but I think the ideas that one of those would be a TV
07:45series for Cal Kestis select the other one is kind of a mystery show could be anything
07:49but just in terms of where we see Cal Kestis first odds are probably best that would either
07:54be on Ahsoka season two or season three or one of the unannounced series we don't have
07:59any details for yet then after that first cameo crossover assuming things go to plan
08:04they give him his own TV show and he just transitions to that just like Ahsoka did for
08:08Mando season two to her own series.
08:11Then that Cal Kestis series would become like the new main flagship show because by that
08:16point were talking like the year 2028 this point for them to actually start a Cal Kestis
08:20TV show.
08:21You have to remember this wouldn't come out to like a year to after his last game comes
08:25out by that point Ahsoka will probably have finished all of its run as a Disney plus series
08:30like I don't think they go past season three or season four of that and after that show
08:34is done.
08:35They do the same thing with those characters like Ahsoka Ezra Sabine Hera chopper like
08:38the real big characters that the doing with Mando and Grogu and just have them show up
08:42in the movies and the other TV series, but the whole idea is that all these different
08:47figures like Grogu Luke Skywalker Cal Kestis all have very different ideas about how to
08:52pursue their training in the force.
08:54Like Grogu won't turn out exactly like Yoda he'll be more like Tar Vizsla the first Mandalorian
08:59Jedi because he both became a Mandalorian, but he'll also continue training in the force.
09:04Same thing with Cal Kestis who also has Marin a night sister who uses the force in a very
09:08different way will be helping train new Jedi his order would look completely different
09:12than Luke Skywalker's Jedi order.
09:15There is a grand plan for the Cal Kestis character in live-action series and movies.
09:19If everything works out long-term and we are talking about long-term in addition to
09:22crossing over with the other new movies and series.
09:24He would just get his own series, but it sounds like they're just continuing to drill down
09:29and focus on that Mando part of the timeline because they also announced that the Rey movie
09:34which is set after rise of Skywalker has entered the Bermuda Triangle of Lucasfilm development
09:39and it means that the movie has been indefinitely delayed like who knows when it's going to
09:44happen.
09:45That's really like Lucasfilm's code for like will put on the shelf for like 10 years and
09:48try to figure it out and then maybe will eventually see a different version of it.
09:52They've also canceled Taika Waititi's Star Wars movie to and who knows if will ever see
09:57James Bangold's dawn of the Jedi movie in that different part of the timeline like is
10:01that it just feels like they're drilling down and focusing on this Mando part of the timeline
10:06because they feel like it's going to be where all their bangers are coming from like the
10:09really betting the future of Star Wars in the movies and the TV shows everything in
10:14this Mando part of the timeline of those characters.
10:17Mostly because they feel like those are their strongest most popular characters.
10:21The funny part about that is if you were a kid from the 90s and you read the Thrawn trilogy
10:25that was sort of like the real sequel trilogy for all those kids from the 80s and the 90s
10:30after the original trilogy ended and because George Lucas had announced that he was making
10:34the prequels yet.
10:35We didn't think we'd ever get more Star Wars movies.
10:38So like that was the real sequel trilogy for a lot of people for a long time.
10:43Now they're basically doing that, but in live-action.
10:46It just happens to be happening after they tried to already make a sequel trilogy.
10:50How funny the things work out that way.

10:58If we're not can see until like 2026 2027 and even though it is a bummer that were not
11:03getting more Mandalorian on Disney plus we are seeing more them in the movies like
11:07they'll just continue with sequels if the first movie does well.
11:10There's a bunch of big stuff coming up.
