Should West Brom be looking at a new deal for Carlos Corberan?

Jonny Drury and Lewis Cox discuss rumoured interest in Carlos Corberan on the latest episode of the Baggies Broadcast. On a number of occasions during his time at Albion, Corberan has been subject to speculation and interest from other clubs. And last week, it was reported in the national press that his former club, Leeds United, where he served as a coach under Marcelo Bielsa, were keeping tabs on him amid a difficult period for boss Daniel Farke. Elsewhere, Southampton have also been credited with interest in Corberan, with boss Russell Martin enduring a difficult start to life in the Premier League. Lewis and Jonny discuss Corberan's Albion situation, whether there is anything in the reports and what Albion could potentially do to combat this and future interest. Lewis also gives his insight into whether Corberan would depart Albion should a solid offer come in from a Premier League side.

00:09reported over the weekend in the National Papers that Leeds were keeping an eye on Corbijn, which

00:13is probably not hard to work out. He's got a mention of a £2million compensation clause,

00:19so they haven't done another club potentially looking at Corbijn after their tricky start to

00:24the Premier League campaign. If this wasn't being discussed, Cox, I'd be surprised.

00:30In terms of potentially looking at a new deal? Is it 2026, 2027?

00:35It's 2027, isn't it, off the top of my head, but check that for us because I'm

00:39doubting myself now. I think it's 2027. But while I'll be in the top of the Championship,

00:44or even among the top two or three, hopefully they can stay in the current position, but

00:49this will happen and only grow louder and stronger. We're not even into October,

00:53we're not even into the second season yet, are we? And we haven't seen changes in the

00:58struggles of the top flight or those that aren't quite doing it in the Championship.

01:04I can't see Corbijn being interested during this season. I don't think I could.

01:44was committed here. Certainly one of those clubs had an interest and Carlos was committed to Albion.
