A California man has been charged with murder following the fatal stabbing of Eduardo Xol, a former star of the hit reality series “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.”

00:00A California man has been charged with murder following the tragic death of Eduardo Zoll,
00:04a beloved star of Extreme Makeover Home Edition.
00:06Zoll, aged 58, was also known for his talent as a singer and actor.
00:10He died after sustaining multiple stab wounds.
00:13On September 10, Zoll called the Palm Springs Police for help.
00:16When officers arrived, they found him seriously injured in his apartment.
00:19He was rushed to a hospital but sadly succumbed to his injuries 10 days later.
00:23Authorities had identified Richard Joseph Gonzalez as the suspect.
00:27Initially reporting an assault on himself,
00:29Gonzalez was later linked to the stabbing and charged with the murder.
00:32Gonzalez is currently being held without bail in Riverside County.
00:35His connection to Zoll remains unclear, but police have stated they were, quote,
00:38associates.
00:39In a statement, Zoll's family expressed their heartbreak over this loss,
00:42noting, quote,
00:43His kindness has touched the lives of so many.
00:45The family has requested privacy as they grieve and suggest donations to a lupus
00:49foundation in his honor.
00:50Fans and colleagues have taken to social media to share their condolences and
00:53memories of the caring individual he was.
00:55Beyond his television name, Zoll was known for his compassion and dedication to
00:58helping others.
00:59His legacy will be remembered by many.
