00:00The target of the Camera is to pass the budget for next year.

00:06Yesterday, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. signed the budget proposal.

00:12We have a reporter with us, Mela Lesmoras.

00:18President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. hurried the passing of House Bill No. 10800 or 2025 General Appropriations Bill

00:29In the plenary session of the Camera last night, the letter was read by the President.

00:35Here, it is stated that the President is urgently certifying the budget of more than Php 6 trillion.

00:43This means that the passing of the 2nd and 3rd reading of the budget can be done within a day.

00:51This is to ensure that the government's operation will not be delayed and the government's programs will be continuously funded.

00:59Today, the target of the Camera is to pass the budget for next year.

01:08However, it is not yet known what will happen to the 2025 budget proposal of the Office of the Vice President

01:15because its officials are still not sure.

01:18Yesterday, the members of the House of Representatives waited for 17 hours for the Office of the Vice President to appear before the plenary.

01:31Although they were sent by their lawyers, they are not properly equipped with the authorization.

01:38In other words, they are not authorized to represent on behalf of the Vice President.

01:43Now, the discussion on the budget of the Office of the Vice President is scheduled.

01:51So, we will wait until the Vice President shows up or any of the representatives of the Office of the Vice President.

02:00The OVP of Palugit was given by the lawmakers until this Wednesday, September 25, to explain their plan for the funding.

02:09Some congressmen challenged Vice President Sara Duterte to strike if she does not want to fulfill her duties.

02:17In fairness to her, consistent in the sense that she did not participate in the Committee on Appropriations Budget Hearing.

02:25She also did not participate in the plenary.

02:28So, it shows that she is not interested with her duties and functions as the Vice President of the Philippines.

02:38So, if that's how it turns out, probably we can ask her to step down as the Vice President.

02:44That's clearly a clear sentiment being shared by a lot of members.

02:49Because, you know, that's work, that's responsibility.

02:53This is not even about her, this is about the Office of the Vice President, the second highest position of the land.

02:59The first thing that VP Sara did was submit the necessary documents to the House of Representatives.

03:05That's why they asked the congressmen to step down from their fund.

03:11In a Facebook post, the OVP also opposed the actions of the Vice President,

03:18particularly the issue that she was only at the beach during the plenary deliberations.

03:24According to her office, the Vice President should be concerned with the well-being of our fellow countrymen.

03:30Aside from the OVP, AgriPartylist Representative Wilbert Lee also addressed the Budget Proposal of the Department of Health.

03:38She is encouraging the expansion of the benefits of the members of the field health within the DOH.

03:45The national fund is important for the continuous implementation of programs and initiatives of the government.

03:52That's why the lawmakers will continue to focus on this issue.
